There is too much "treble hooking" that occurs because people feel entitled to stuff like free food, just because. The social media, Yelp, etc and the threat of bad reviews only exacerbate the problem and embolden the whi...

 | re: Permanent Life Insurance - Bayou Tiger on 5/20/13 at 11:20 am Normally I wouldn't say anything at all except for the comment "if all you can afford is term" as if purchasing term alone is for poor people or people of means who just don't get it.
There may be some good reasons to get permanent and its ilk, but the reasoning should revolve around the specific...

Sure, I could "afford" to pay $600/month permanent/whole premiums instead of $75/month term premiums for the same $1,200,000 policy value. But I didn't g...

 | re: Permanent Life Insurance - Bayou Tiger on 5/19/13 at 10:04 pm I wouldn't necessarily say that low death benefit of whole life was protecting his family well, other than covering funeral costs and the cost of briefly adjusting to life without him.
By comparison, my term life policy has a death benefit of $1,200,000 and costs $75/month....

Basically we know who you are and where you work, theft over $500 is grand theft, and the Plan B app sent address info throughout the night (a bluff). Wife just said that husband is a hothead and we just want to get the phone back...

 | re: Can someone explain the difference between 'Beta' and 'Standard Deviation'? - Bayou Tiger on 5/19/13 at 9:13 pm In simple terms, standard deviation is the volatility of the investment (sometimes interpreted as risk), while Beta relates this volatility to a certain benchmark index or investment.
Mathematically,
Beta = Correlation coefficient between market and stock x (standard deviation of stock returns...
