Jesus Christ, man. Are you guys really this fricking nutty? Sorry for putting that way, but come on.
Unfortunately, they are. There's plenty of real legitimate reasons to be upset, mad, or disappointed (pick your adjective) with Obama. But what these guys don't seem to realize ...

Sorry, but Principia-Scientific, the source of the article, is a journal created solely to discredit climate change. I'm not saying that they right or wrong in this case, but I wouldn't claim victory until a more reputable publications like Scientific American weighs in. And no I don't believe tha...
| Political Talk|| re: Why do we continue to do business with Pakistan? - Tyrusrex on 1/25/14 at 9:15 pm|
This is pretty easy, as bad as Pakistan is as an ally, it would be much much much worse if they were our enemy. Can you imagine a radical Islamic country near India, China, and the Middle East with nuclear weapons? This is why we put up with all the shite from Pakistan....

It's just as honest as saying the top 50% pays 97% of income taxes. Sure it's true, but it's not a complete picture of the total picture. What I want is a honest discussion about taxes not the half truths and sometimes outright lies that I hear from the left and the right....
| Political Talk|| re: Latest tax stats: Who really is paying "their fair share"? - Tyrusrex on 12/20/13 at 11:26 pm|
Sigh... this again?
Yes, the rich pays the majority of income taxes, but the key term here is "income taxes". This is nowhere near the total amount of taxes a person pays. There's also, payroll, state and local as well. If one only takes a look at income taxes it's a very incomplete picture. ...

I don't know if Obamacare or single payer is the answer, but I do know that the Republican position which is to change nothing is not the answer. Right now the United States pays the most by far of any industrialized country and gets in return the least.
It is an Apples and Oranges comparison.
You need only look at the cost of pre-Obamacare healthcare policies +Medicaid +Medicare to figure that out.
18% of GDP = $9400.00 per capita.
How many families-of-four paid anything approaching $37,600.00/year in healthcare insurance?

Whose fault is it?
You'll have to make up your own mind. Basically, it comes down to this. The Republicans won't pass a CR that funds Obamacare, and the Democrats won't pass a CR unless it's funded. It's an unstoppable force vs immovable object situation. Also, don't believe any stories about...
