I do know that the Republican position which is to change nothing is not the answer
The Republican's offered multiple alternatives to Obamacare when it was debated and passed. I think even today they have several different plans available.
So what is the Republican...

I don't know if Obamacare or single payer is the answer, but I do know that the Republican position which is to change nothing is not the answer. Right now the United States pays the most by far of any industrialized country and gets in return the least.
Here's a list of countries and percentag...
It is an Apples and Oranges comparison.
You need only look at the cost of pre-Obamacare healthcare policies +Medicaid +Medicare to figure that out.
18% of GDP = $9400.00 per capita.
How many families-of-four paid anything approaching $37,600.00/year in healthcare insurance?
Do you know anything about organization or planning?
Yes I do. And I'm not saying that the government should have or haven't been more prepared for the influx. The government fortunately made an extremely large window to allow people to sign up.

As someone who works in the IT field, I know a little about DOS (denial of service) attacks. Even the biggest of sites like Amazon and eBay will get it, if a certain page is hit with too much traffic all at once. And thats the rub, the sites didn't fail because they were necessarily poorly designe...
| Political Talk|| re: Whose fault is the shutdown? - Tyrusrex on 10/2/13 at 12:18 pm|
Whose fault is it?
You'll have to make up your own mind. Basically, it comes down to this. The Republicans won't pass a CR that funds Obamacare, and the Democrats won't pass a CR unless it's funded. It's an unstoppable force vs immovable object situation. Also, don't believe any stories about...
| Political Talk|| re: Who are these people that can't afford healthcare? - Tyrusrex on 10/1/13 at 12:39 pm|
I would be one of those people who wouldn't be able to get healthcare. I have a good paying job in the tech field, where I get my current insurance. But because I have a family history of heart disease and suffer from hypertension, it would be impossible for me to get insurance on my own. This ma...

Basketball is far, far back in 3rd.
And then when Johnny, David Patrick and staff turn it around you will be saying basketball is 1st.
I grew up in 80's when Daddy Dale was more successful than the football program. Back then, basketball was indeed #1. It just...

Yup, population trends is yet another factor in determining economic health. But ask yourself this, if you were a smart kid with a degree from Duke/Rice , where would you most likely go to make your fortune? New York City or Silicon Valley is your most likely answer.

A few reasons.

2) No country where releasing them, where they wouldn't do any harm will take them will take them. I think the last place they ...

This is one of the worst threads ever. The United States was built on the principal of all men being created equal, which doesn't mean that people are equal, but should be treated equally.
