re: Is Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy underrated? - Tigris
Is Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy underrated?
Yes, it is. It probably helped that I was familiar with the plot but I really enjoyed it. The book is pretty slow too. Not every movie has to be superheroes/chase scenes/CGI battles/explosions. ...

re: Backyard Birdwatchers - Tigris
May 16th would be the earliest I could make it though.
That's too late for Kennesaw Mountain. But a good spot to try from Savannah is Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge. It's the best place I know of for Painted Bunting and they are there starting now through the summer. And a rookery...

re: Bermuda Grass in St. Augustine Yard - Tigris
you ain't getting rid of it unless you dig it up and re-sod.
That Bermuda is a tough SOB. I had a Bermuda yard that looked just terrible because it's too shady for Bermuda and the previous home owner had just put down Bermuda sod on red Georgia clay. So I rounded up the Bermuda t...

re: Just started The Sopranos - Tigris
I started it a month ago and am half way through the last season. It's definitely a series you need to watch. Honestly I think it is good but somewhat overrated. Just never got fully into it or gave a damn about any of the characters. It is compelling at times but pretty meh at other times. I...

re: amateur photographer has an extremely close call with a crocodile - Tigris
That "rock" floats really well. It's more likely it is bread and they are feeding the crocs. It's definitely not a rock though. Pretty sure that is at the Tarcoles River bridge in Costa Rica. Some local daredevils feed the crocs with chicken and see how close they can get. Also, I think someo...

re: Who has seen the Book of Mormon? - Tigris
Let me guess, you haven't seen the play but feel like chiming in anyway? The play is pretty light hearted and really isn't intended as an attack on Mormons per se. It's one of two plays I actually liked a lot. Spamalot was a bit better IMO but I really enjoy almost everything that the South...

re: Colorado vacation suggestions (late July) - Tigris
The trail up Ida is pretty clear. The mount Ypsilon trail is clear to above timberline, then eventually becomes somewhat of a rock scramble without a clear trail. But you can see where the peak is, it would be hard to fack it up. With Ypsilon you can do Mt. Chiquita as well and bag two 13'ers. ...

re: Colorado vacation suggestions (late July) - Tigris
Estes Park will be better for the hiking that Grand Lake. On the west side of the divide the mountains have a much more gentle slope so the views generally are not as nice. For Ypsilon you want to take Fall River Road up to the trailhead which is a bit short of Trail Ridge Road. If it is open. ...
