It opens a little early, but its only 7 weekends of rifle. I think rifle opens back up for the holidays, but none of us will be there. Most of us don't bow hunt.

I've got a 32mm Leupold VX1 on one rifle and a cheaper older Simmons 42mm scope on another. Both scopes hold zero, but the smaller Leupold is more clear, more crisp, and gathers as much light as the larger Simmons. Good glass is important in the woods where it gets light later and dark a little ear...

The hand grinder is so simple and trouble free, if I upgrade it will be to a 1hp that I can use for my deer and other guys at the camp.
I don't do the whole deer because I love shoulder roast and rump roast as well. But I would grind more if I had the horsepower!

When I bought the hand grinder I had just shot my first deer on the 40 acres I bought, and thought 1 deer a year was good. A hand grinder works fine for that.
In the years I've shot two or more, I get tired of using it and wish I had a commercial grinder. ...

I love the sound of the hounds running through the National Forest in MS. It is a great way to hunt compared to sitting in a plywood tower overlooking a feeder in a pine plantation.
