re: when am I allowed to use/brandish a gun? - dat yat
A couple years ago there was a situation in my condos that resulted in a shotgun being pulled. NOPD did not take the guy in because in their judgment the man "perceived a threat"*, and was justified. If your friend says he perceived a threat, and no shots were fired, NOPD will probably let it g...

Cool video. I live a five minute run to Lake Borgne and need to learn tripletail. I already have the treble hooks and several colors of Matrix Shad, including Shrimp Creole. Gotta try that. Also, the reggae tune: "To the rescue, Sea Tow time" is subtle. Took me a bit to catch on....

I fished proctor point and a few of the rigs off Alligator point last week with my boy. Caught some nice reds and a few decent trout, noticed more crab traps than there were in early/mid June. Also noticed duckweed mixed with alligator weed floating all over. This stuff must have come from St...

re: spinoff thread: how often do you throw out game/fish from your freezer? - dat yat
The only time I threw away frozen food was when the power went out after a storm. After a couple months of not eating much venison, I'm starting to cook it again to make room in the freezer. When I take people fishing I usually give them most of the fish and keep enough for a couple meals du...

I hunt a piney section of southeast AR and there are way more deer there than in the piney woods of southeast MS. If our club could teach me and a couple others to tell the difference between a button and a doe (as well as count to three a little better); we could really have a great herd. The t...

The catering chef at Pat O's on the River told us that one of their offerings was "gluten free pasta sauce".
