How is the fishing this time if year?
My better half's family rented a house so I gotta leave my main stomping grounds. Any good places to throw the yak in off hwy 1?
Oh, and where is the best place to watch the LSU/Ole Miss game in GI? GTH OM and Geaux Tigers....

Those were rollaround closets (wardrobes) for old houses that had no (or tiny) closets. I grew up across the river where all houses had decent closets. After college I wanted to move to Mid City, the shotgun houses had tiny closets htat could not even hold a suit perpe...

It's a chest where we keep our draws, so its a chest-a-draws.
Chest of drawers just sounds so formal.........

I've done RNR-Mardi Gras and the route is great and the bands are nice. But they are high dollar, don't have great food and only give you two beers.
Why do they give medals for a half? I sign up for one most years just to make myself train; not sure I deserve a medal for that.
My next one mig...

Cool looking gun and nice kill.
It looks like it rained on y'all too. We hunt near Monticello and it rained off and on the whole time....

Got my tower stand fixed up, set out some prop ups, filled feeders and popped a doe in Arkansas. I let my dad use my tower stand and he saw nothing. I hope that changes on Nov 8. Here's a pic of a dead deer to get y'all thinking about deer season.

Last Wednesday three of us and a guide caught 135 in various spots* in the Delecroix marsh. We hit spots where water was flowing through the mouth of small bayous into or out of the lakes. Mixed bag of reds, drum, specks and whites; mostly whites. The fish were not too picky, they took chartreuse...
Has anyone dealt with this before?
I eat healthy most of the time, but being anal about it is kinda stupid.
One time after 11 solid days of greens, fruit, fish and venison, we went to a concert and had Bud Light and Dominios Pizza. Best Pizza Ever....

Our camp in Arkansas has no cable or satellite while the doe opener is during the Florida game and the Buck opener is on the Bama game. The silence may be refreshing....

I'd believe there's a UFO first.........

I've heard that the pelleteized lime absorbs quicker than powdered ag lime and it should help this year no matter what you plant.
I bought land in 2007. Best thing I did that year was thin the pulpwood; made an amazing difference in the amount of browse. I wish I had tested the soil and limed...

10-15# Mono Usually 12#.
Gold Spoon or a chartreuse Cocahoe like the Lemonhead Matrix (many other flavors work too) Reds aren't that picky.
Best way for taking others fishing for reds is with live shrimp or live cocahoe 2-3' under a popping cork. But I'd rather fish wi...
| Outdoor Board|| re: Hot Water Canal fishing......Anybody familiar with it? - dat yat on 9/16/14 at 10:04 pm|
Closest launch is Bienvenue, but it is doable from the Chef or Seabrook as well. I come from the Chef area. It's across the GICW from where the MRGO intersects it. It is best after a couple good cold fronts have pushed the fish into a fall/winter pattern.
I use plastic cocohoes sweetened with mk...
so a full suspension wouldn't ease the jarring?
It would ease the jarring, but you mentioned mostly on roads. Full suspension is heavy and slows you down quite a bit as the motion takes a little power out of each crank.
A comfort bike might be good for you. They are easy on th...

That Specialized bike in your link is the bike I have, except I did not spring for the disk brakes. The other day riding through a muddy section of our lease, I wished it had em. That grit was grindin on the rims as I was braking. ...

I'm pushing 50 and sometimes have those pains. I have a road bike and a cross-trail.
For mixed city riding or hunting camp trail riding, the Specialized cross-trail is great. I've ridden streets, fields, crossed mud puddles, hopped curbs, enjoyed a few Happy-Thursday drinking rides and gone o...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Could I still be considered an LSU fan if I attend Ole Miss? - dat yat on 8/30/14 at 12:00 am|
No. Stupid question.
If you must go to a Mississippi school go to a non-SEC place like USM or turn in your LSU fancard. My daughter went there, much to my disapointment, and met the son of a BAMA boy who went there, much to his family's disapointment. They got married, but the families get along f...
| Outdoor Board|| re: paddle or peddle? give your reasons for your answer - dat yat on 8/25/14 at 11:11 pm|
Paddling is simpler, cheaper and will get you a little shallower.
Pedaling may be better for long distance rides and it allows use of hands for fishing or drinking while underway.
I'm a paddler....
