Vader or WEAVE, do either of you (or anyone else for that matter) have a recommendation on a pro to take lessons from? I saw in a previous thread about pros, WEAVE said Blaine Patin.
I tried looking him up, and he used to be at Oaks at Sherwood. Didn't it close down? Any help would be apprec...

| O-T Lounge|| OT Mechanics: Battery/Alternator Question - Geecubed on 4/28/14 at 10:36 am|
Car wouldn't start (no cranking at all) last night, so this morning before work, I jumped my battery off. Car started fine, but as I was driving, when I would slow down, the lights would dim, and eventually, at a stop sign, my car died again. I figured that my alternator would charge my battery at...

Has anyone ever taken this? If so, was it helpful to your resume?
Reason I pose this question is that professors at the SELU College of Business are pushing this test hard, saying that a good score will make prospective employers pursue even harder....

Moustache, I agree with you, as far as Varsity HS, college, and pro pitchers go. But teaching a young kid at 11 or 12 to throw a changeup is not rocket science. At that age, you are just looking for a change of speed. If you can teach proper technique for a changeup at 11 or 12, and have the kids...

I hope you don't ask your 11-12 yo pitchers to throw this. We didn't start throwing a true breaking ball until 13-14 (8th Grade)....

Lester, a changeup is easy to teach. It is a fastball with a different grip. Do you really think 11-12 year olds that have played baseball ever, can't learn to throw a change?...

That is what I thought as well, but when I assisted with a middle-school team, one of my pitchers threw it and it moved almost like a slider. I know he wasn't throwing a slider because of the spin, and his form on his follow-through....

Totally agree with P&G86. Work with your pitchers on hitting spots. Don't ever call a pitch down the middle unless 3-0. Have the kids practice either a circle change (for good movement) or a straight change (pitcher doesn't pop his wrist, more like wiping a wall), and always throw it away.

I think that the slower one throws a curve, the more break one would have with the new balls. There was a guy for UCLA (I believe) a couple of years ago in the CWS throwing this looping curveball. I don't think the break would change much on his breaking ball.
On the other hand, pitchers that t...
