Do you work for DPS? Because if you do, you know good and well that the statement about no raises since 2010 is false. They have received merit increases when other departments could not afford to give merits. They also were able to promote, even when a hiring freeze...

1. These fat cats are not strictly Republican
2. The majority of these billionaires give away a shit-ton of their fortunes every year to really good causes.
I'm surprised you haven't gotten blasted yet....

| O-T Lounge|| re: How much money do you put towards retirement from each paycheck? - Geecubed on 12/19/14 at 3:49 pm|
Before you start putting into retirement, you need to have at least three-months-worth of bills set aside for an emergency. Once you have that, then put 15% of your take home into a retirement account (I would say max out a Roth IRA or Roth 401(k) before adding to a traditional 401(k) or IRA). Mut...

Car wouldn't start (no cranking at all) last night, so this morning before work, I jumped my battery off. Car started fine, but as I was driving, when I would slow down, the lights would dim, and eventually, at a stop sign, my car died again. I figured that my alternator would charge my battery at...

Moustache, I agree with you, as far as Varsity HS, college, and pro pitchers go. But teaching a young kid at 11 or 12 to throw a changeup is not rocket science. At that age, you are just looking for a change of speed. If you can teach proper technique for a changeup at 11 or 12, and have the kids...

Lester, a changeup is easy to teach. It is a fastball with a different grip. Do you really think 11-12 year olds that have played baseball ever, can't learn to throw a change?...

That is what I thought as well, but when I assisted with a middle-school team, one of my pitchers threw it and it moved almost like a slider. I know he wasn't throwing a slider because of the spin, and his form on his follow-through....
| O-T Lounge|| re: Looking for some pitching sequence tips for youth baseball... - Geecubed on 2/19/14 at 1:46 pm|
Totally agree with P&G86. Work with your pitchers on hitting spots. Don't ever call a pitch down the middle unless 3-0. Have the kids practice either a circle change (for good movement) or a straight change (pitcher doesn't pop his wrist, more like wiping a wall), and always throw it away.
