It's a decent setup for a beginner. If you don't need the adjustability there are probably better options out there. ...

Unless you are very cold natured, 5.0 may be too much for the temps you are talking about. I've worn my 3.0 with just the Scent Control fleece Jacket and pants with a UA fleece hoodie when it was in the high teens and stayed comfortable....
| Outdoor Board|| re: Looking for a new bow - Raz4back on 9/13/14 at 12:41 pm|
The only downside to the Obsessions right now is the long wait times. They really messed up offering all of the color options with no upcharge. If you get a chance to shoot one you won't be disappointed.
The Xpedition Xcentrics are awesome bows too. They have the same basic riser and limb design...

That used to be the case, but not anymore. All of the bow companies make great bows, it's a matter of finding what you like best.
I was a huge Mathews fan, but I just made the switch to an Obsession E...

| Outdoor Board|| re: Question for those who wear under armor camo - Raz4back on 9/3/14 at 2:26 pm|
I have the older version (capture fleece) of the rut pants and jacket. I've worn it into the teens with just a UA hoodie and base 2.0 layers and stayed comfortable.
If you can wait until October they are coming out with UA Barren series camo that's pretty sweet. It's an open pattern that would b...
Looking at getting another compound soon and was curious how much warranty mattered. A 4 year old flagship seems to be about on par with today's bows for much cheaper. Or it seems like an older elite wouldn't be too bad. I just don't know how much warranty really matters on bows.
Find a consistent anchor point, preferably bone to bone (knuckle to jawbone for example). Without a repeatable anchor you are going to struggle with shot consistentcy.
Other than that make sure the bow fits you draw length wise, that you aren't trying to use too much draw weight (you should be ab...
| Outdoor Board|| re: How much do limb dampeners help? - Raz4back on 8/15/14 at 2:50 pm|
They help more with felt vibration than they do with noise. On an older bow they will most certainly quiet it down a little. A string stop and string dampners would be more effective.

| Outdoor Board|| re: advice for a brand new bowhunter - Raz4back on 8/14/14 at 1:04 pm|
Black Eagle arrows are what I'm shooting this year. I'd have to know your draw weight, arrow length, and broadhead weight you plan to shoot before I could recommend what arrow spine you need. (I believe that bow's IBO is around 310 which is going to put you at a 350 or 400 spine depending on the abo...
