re: Why does the Offensive Line seem to be underperforming? - boxcar willie
The coaches chose to wear down Monroe,
true, I think they also intentionally put the o-line in a bad position just to give them the extra work. Would have been to easy to beat them any other way and we did it by 31 the hard way anyway. ...
Because nobody will respect our passing game until we can competently throw the mid range pass.
the easiest way to complete a mid range pass is to throw it on 1st down, out of a two or three wr set with multiple options to throw to. Oddly enough this, this is also the e...

re: after watching the game on tv, Beckwith had a great game. - boxcar willie
what makes hims great tiger?
Because he chose to bring his talents to LSU instead of another school. Nothing to do with being a great tiger, but Welter is actually playing much better this season. I don't see him as a weak link anymore. ...

re: Why does the Offensive Line seem to be underperforming? - boxcar willie
We don't need creativity we just need to loosen up a little and utilize the talent that exists on our offense. The o-line looked pretty dam good in the second half against Wisconson and against Sam Houston St. ...
Arkansas consistently gashed right up the middle or the defense.

They passed the ball like 2-3 times in each quarter
did the line up in a one wr set with the backs in an I formation and two TE's?
you still seem to be struggling with what the term "pro-style" means...
but one thing that has been made clear is that we don't run a "pro-style" offense and rarely line up in what could be called a "pro set" ...

re: We will win at least 10 games this year - boxcar willie
yes we can probably run the offense we ran last night and get 9- 10 wins, if that is our goal. Would rather that trying to win the SEC west which we seem to be fully capable of was our goal though, but 9-10 wins instead is an OK goal also I guess. ...
If by putting the o-line under pressure then we put the QB under pressure and give the RB's nowhere to run... Mission Accomplished
well there has to be some explanation of why we do what we do...

re: Was last night a wasted 4 quarters of development for our young offense? - boxcar willie
I don't get the point of playing a game like that if we are just going to bull them over with superior players and not run anything close to what our offense will actually look like against legit opponents
apparently it is already perfected and doesn't need to be worked on. It wil...
timlan2057
good stuff tim
The first evolution from the classic pro set began with three wide receiver sets,
very interesting, so it has probably been a while since one wr sets were the standard base pro set offense in the pros? what about pro style of play...
... Against Wisconsin, Jennings was 4/6 in the second half and sacked twice (Harris didn't see the field). So 30 runs and 6 passes. Different formations, yes, but hardly airing it out.
that's exactly my point. Not talking about airing it out, just talking about taking what the d ...

how do you explain the Wisconson game? 1st half we run the Two TE I formation pro style run offense and looked like crap then in the second half lined up sometimes with 3 wr non pro style offense (the type offense the pros run these days) and the offense and QB's looked good. ...
Both QBs got more work than I expected against SHSU, and looked comfortable, especially Jennings early on. The staff treated ULM as a glorified walk-through. No serious injuries. It's another W. Move on and pass judgement after next week's game.
I guess that's how we have to look ...
