Expected to crest at 34.5 feet here in Baton Rouge on May 9th.
Flood stage is 35 feet and we were around 45 feet in the peak of the 2011 flood IIRC.

Cool. I know him from running field trips down in the delta. He operates an airboat for us or runs us down south pass... whatever we need. Really great guy.
He told me that he has never left the delta for a storm! Ties his skiff up in the willows and rides it out! He may not do that anymore...

Define short lived...
And no, it wont last forever, nobody has ever said it would. Land created higher up in the system will have a longer life due to lower subsidence, and less wave erosion....

Main pass is not a diversion. It is a natural distributary in the cubits gap sub delta. Google it while i take care of my family....

Main pass is a distributary in the cubits gap sub delta. It is in the detoriation phase of the sub delta progression. Google sub delta life span.
