Correct and needs to be stressed more. Mixing beyond the recommended concentration (usually 2.5oz/gal) is just wasting chemical and money. Follow thy label. ...

re: Big Rig vs Tug Boat Tug of War - DownshiftAndFloorIt
I'm not saying I don't believe you, I've just never seen a formula for traction other than a derivation from torque and friction, which doesn't support what yall are saying. Either way, I don't think that tug is pulling that truck. That is an extremely small, extremely not powerful tug. ETA:...

re: Big Rig vs Tug Boat Tug of War - DownshiftAndFloorIt
Nahhh. A race car tire has to do a whole lot of things. There's lateral stability, wear rate, heat dissipation, and a whole lot of other stuff. This truck tire just has to not break loose in this one particular straight pull. It's a 2 dimension problem which could easily have been a 1 dimension ...

re: Big Rig vs Tug Boat Tug of War - DownshiftAndFloorIt
I'm not sure how "traction" is defined, but I would define it as how much force the tire can put on the pavement before static friction is overcome. In the case of a smooth race tire, I'm not sure that the increased traction vs a normal car tire isn't due to the very soft rubber rather than the ...

Wick, you seem to be pretty financially stable and a perfectly reasonable person. I think it would be a great mark on your legacy if you leased the whole thing for OB hunting club. And let me run dogs on it, and don't allow disk golf. Send me a work detail schedule as soon as you work one up...

re: Big Rig vs Tug Boat Tug of War - DownshiftAndFloorIt
The cool part is, contact area doesn't matter. It could have 50000 square inches of contact and the force it takes to peel out would be the same :ice: You've also got to consider that the trucks engine makes far more than 1000 ft/lbs. That looked like a caterpillar engine and being 500hp it's...

re: Big Rig vs Tug Boat Tug of War - DownshiftAndFloorIt
Yea it can in certain conditions. If the water is too shallow the wheels might cavitate in a bollard pull or dead push. That doesn't seem to be the case here because nobody measures or calculates bollard pulls with aerated wheels. 16000 pounds is very low. You can see the strain gauge in the cab of ...

re: Big Rig vs Tug Boat Tug of War - DownshiftAndFloorIt
Bollard pull is a rating of how hard the boat can pull. The way that's measured is the boat is tied to a bollard with a load cell and it pulls the load cell....
