Except that would ruin the show. The show itself was actually good and so didn't need gratuitous (and uncreative) scenes and language to make people want to watch.
For an example of what could have been a great show but was ruined by pay cable, see homeland. ...

Jack changed a great deal over the series. I do agree about the others you mentioned though. Sawyer and Locke particularly. I would rather know more about Ben in the later Hurley years. ...
