re: Murder rates "rising sharply" in major US cities - bapple
If drugs were legal, EVERYONE would be doing them.
You need to study the causes of substance abuse. Happy people don't need drugs to be happy. Troubled people need drugs to numb the pain of reality. Then throwing that person in a cage does nothing but punish them for being tr...
Strict gun laws don't work when you can just leave the city, buy a gun, and come right back into the city
But wouldn't that mean the city with lax gun laws should also have a high crime rate? If the availability of guns is the issue, then Houston should be just as violent as Chicag...
aren't most movie theaters gun free zones?
The owner of said business or property can pursue charges if they so choose. And it carries more legal weight if they have a sign out front saying "no guns." On the other hand, in the specific areas outlined in LA law, it's an automati...
I agree with everything except carry in condition 3. Treat every gun as loaded.
Notice I suggested carrying condition 3 for only a week to build confidence. I carried condition 0 (chamber loaded, no safety) from the very beginning but I have been around firearms my whole life. I...

There has been some good advice here but I don't agree with this one (refer to my rebuttal at #3):
I would recommend getting a CC with a thumb safety. Learn to CC with it. Keep it if you like or later on get CC with no safety when you're ready.
Before I discuss more in depth, I...
You like the D spring trigger or think the Wilson or Wolff might be better ?
Well really all you need to do is look at the spring weights. The heavier the spring, the heavier the trigger pull. But don't do like I did the first time - I took a D spring and cut a couple coils off ...
. Will probably change hammer spring to a D spring
I put the D spring in mine a while back. and bought a couple of them so I have a spare. If you're in BR I'd be happy to meet up with you and help you install it. I have a good bit of experience taking down the 92. I guess I d...
Also, the instructors told us after 911 is called, and the cops get there, all you say to the cops is "there is the threat, this is my firearm, and these are the witnesses, I will answer any questions you have 24 hours after I have talked to my lawyer." and that's it. Though I imagine it woul...
Your video was great btw

Thanks for the info and help, bapple.
 My main gripes were the non-captured recoil spring, the grip having no taper, and the grip safety in general. Besides that, the sights on that one are awesome and the gun is quite sho...
M&P 9mm's
I heard the early ones had a non standard twist rate that caused some serious key holing. Even though I've never seen it, can't blame anyone for not wanting that... It was also built around the 40 S&W cartridge instead of having to be upsized to it. So it's most relia...
I'll take reliability over those 2 any day.
I don't like this argument because it assumes all other guns will have shite reliability. For the most part, we won't be jumping out of planes, deep sea diving, mud sliding, or freezing our handguns that we use for defense. All the tort...

re: S&W SD9VE Sigma or S&W M&P SHield - bapple
I agree with Carson. But these guns are in two completely different size categories. If you want to look at a better full sized gun by S&W, look at the full sized M&P. The Shield is made for carry. It won't be nearly as easy to shoot as a full sized gun....
