re: Another TX OB Hog hunt - bapple
BP was a great host and the awkwardness of a first meeting lasted maybe 10 seconds. It's crazy how the outdoors can bring just about anyone together. Sucks that I didn't snag a pig but I doubt this was my last trip! But unfortunately for all of you, no pig = no outline/video. I hope yall can surv...

How tactical is that!? Trigger discipline and all. Pretty cold out this morning. 51 degrees when we came in. No signs of life yet. Fingers crossed. Edit: forgot to add... That Colt LE6940 my friend used is the same one from the tactical response class and my review video of it. Just put...

re: So I made a rookie mistake and bought steel casing 223 rounds for my AR - bapple
The main issue isn't the steel cases themselves but the bimetal (copper/steel) jackets on the bullets. They will wear down the rifling in the barrel quicker than regular pure copper jackets. That being said, if you only shoot 460 rounds of it, that shouldn't be an issue. And if you do the math, i...
Not sure what court ruling you're referring to, but I always enjoy reading them if you have a cite.
I'm saying they are looked at differently in courts in general. Things you can do to protect yourself in your home are looked at differently than if you are in a vehicle, the bigges...
Now you are starting to make this read like threads on the Poli-board.
I'll draw the line there and leave it on an OB level. Obviously I've learned to question most things in life and how we are policed is certainly near the top. But I've never been in that line of work day-in d...
There are plenty of instances where drivers will readily admit to all sorts of criminal behavior just by the officer asking a few questions.
And this is why it's best to say as few words as possible and not talk to police. They can pull some law right out of their arse as an excuse...

MJ2, it's not an "extension of your home" since it is looked at differently in the courts. But, it is contained in your property and is in fact legal without a permit. re: just met two of shreveports finest-gun related - bapple
The more a loaded firearm is handled, the greater the chances of a cop negligently discharging it. I don't know why they insist on unloading it and calling it in. It makes the entire situation more dangerous for both parties. Just leave the damn thing alone, write the ticket, and be on your way....
I use synthetic for longer intervals between changes
+1 I run Royal Purple in my 2010 Yukon Denali and go by the computer oil life gauge. It will usually last about 10-12k miles for each change. It's a bit pricier oil but I like knowing my babe is getting taken care of....

re: British vs American Labs - bapple
My American lab, Beaux. Excellent temperament, lots of energy, extremely friendly, loves the water, retrieves anything, has a beautiful coat, and is extremely obedient. He's probably the best looking lab I've seen, in my humble opinion. Very lean and muscular and well-proportioned. [img]http://i4...
