re: Do dehumidifiers assist in A/C efficiency? - Clames
To a degree but if the dehumidifier is another electrical appliance then you aren't saving any money. Considering most electronic dehumidifiers are basically an ac unit packaged in one plastic box with a condensate sump you aren't doing much other than creating another source of heat that the main A...

re: Gotta post this deal from buds gun shop...it's tempting. Deer rifle - Clames
Save a whole $8 with that cash discount... I think I paid $279 for mine in .30-06 from a local shop. Those rifles go on sale all the time and Ruger will offer free loot if you get one at the right time. I got the cheekpad for free and didn't even know about the offer before they sent it to ...

re: Whats the best gun safe to buy? - Clames
That would be an option. Just find it humorous that some people will spend thousands on a nice safe only to leave it in the middle of a room where someone can get a 6-foot pinch point after it....

re: Whats the best gun safe to buy? - Clames
I wouldn't recommend anything you can buy in a box store. AmSec, Sturdy, Homeland, VaultPro, Ft. Knox are all good brands but keep in mind that nothing short of getting into the 5-figure price range is going to meet even the lowest specifications for security containers. There are things you can do...

re: Ideal temperature and humidity for storing firearms - Clames
My safe is about 61% right now with the humidity controller about 50% until it needs a recharge. I think those that take a gun in from cold weather into a warm house and proceed to toss them in the safe need the extra stuff for moisture control. I've never had as much as flash rust with VCI's and n...

re: Ideal temperature and humidity for storing firearms - Clames
Can maintain 50% RH @ 70F with a PG/DW solution that is 80.5/19.5 ratio. Unless your safe is airtight and you have a very effective desiccant you aren't going to see low RH unless you live in the desert....
You might surprised at the conditions in your safe.
Nope, I've fitted mine with mini-dehumidifier, two large VCI packs, and a have a digital hygrometer that isn't one of those crappy ones suitable for cigars......

re: Inboard/Outboard Rotax Jet Engines - Clames
That's not true at all. Hell, my 2002 SeaDoo RX had trim and that was 13 years ago.
My brother's SeaDoo jet boat did not. The 18-footer Glastron's with the jet-drives do not while the same model with a standard outboard or stern-drive do. Jet-drive boats often don't offer trim...

re: Inboard/Outboard Rotax Jet Engines - Clames
Pros of an inboard jet-drive: 1. Shallow draft. 2. Better maneuverability at speed. 3. Better acceleration 4. More resistant to debris damage. Pump will expel rocks and most things with little damage. 5. Packaging allows for more space in the hull (like a larger fuel tank) and more room on aft...
