These schedule threads are pointless and redundant.
LSU fans say they want "fair" scheduling as often as possible. Fans of those schools that have rivals from the other division call LSU fans whiners.....We're on page 10 of that here, and we have multiple threads just like this every day.

Yeah, I think some people are confusing "sleeping giant" with a program that's just going through a down cycle, (while others are really reaching with their suggestions). I mean, LSU was a legit sleeping giant 15 years ago. We had some success and history but had never consistently reached the level...

If it's a head coach I'd guess Muschamp (I'm assuming it's someone we play regularly, and Saban wouldn't make that comment)..... But the comment was probably made by an assistant coach....

Almost zero.
The other schools like that either LSU or UF gets a guaranteed loss. Alabama, Tennessee, UGA and Auburn want to keep their rivalry games, and the have nots enjoy playing each other because they see a chance for a win (miss st vs kentucy, ole miss vs vandy)....

That '86 LSU-Miami of Ohio game was a nightmare. That was actually a pretty decent Miami of Ohio team. It was a rainy night and LSU was just super flat and Miami was sky high....Still no excuse. But Tommy Hodson and the offense just couldn't get anything going.

Damn, forgot about UGA -Auburn. That would be a problem I guess. Alabama, Auburn and UGA each have 2 protected games making this tough to balance equitably.
As for LSU vs UF, that's a great game, but it doesn't 100% need to be protected. Honestly neither do any of S Carolina's games. S Carolina ...

Your pods are very similar to the ones I suggested a few pages back. Only major difference is that I separated UF and UGA so that each pod gets one of Alabama, LSU, UF, UGA.
UF and UGA could be permanent cross pod opponents (assuming that sort of thing is implemented)....
