re: Private Sale vs Trade in - JonTheTigerFan
I've never done it but had a dealership offer to do an "in and out" deal at their dealership. The way they explained it to me was that I would sell the car private party but do the transaction at the dealership and they would handle all the paperwork. I didn't do it so I have no clue how legit this ...

re: Credit Score Question - JonTheTigerFan
Where did you get your credit score from? If it's not a FICO score, it very likely isn't accurate. Also, you can definitely get a Barclay card with your score. I did a few years ago in the same range. Good luck....

re: Operators....how long did it take to qualify - JonTheTigerFan
I got on with a small refinery and qualified in the FCC (Fluidized Catalytic Cracking) unit in 6 months I think. I was in the process of qualifying on my second unit when I decided I couldn't take the shift work anymore. Plus the people on my shift were miserable old farts and I was afraid the plant...

re: Delinquent account questions - JonTheTigerFan
Google "goodwill letter". Send letters to the creditor. Sometimes it works but that depends on the creditor. Some are more forgiving than others. The credit score hit you take from those payments will lessen over time and will drop from your report 7 years from when they occurred. ...

[quote]I have an out of state license's plate, so I'll be sure to remove it myself once the transaction has taken place. re: Has anyone had success getting negative reporting off credit report? - JonTheTigerFan
I had some success with "Pay for Deletes" and a goodwill letter. Had some medical bills and an AT&T collection from when my wife and I merged accounts when we got married. I got a lot of good advice from the MyFico credit rebuilding forum. They have template letters and lots of solid advice. ...

re: EBR is taking a long time to collect storm debris - JonTheTigerFan
[quote]It's been a week and street after street still has tree branches at the curb. I don't think they have enough crews working on it. re: Extending WiFi range about 1000 feet? - JonTheTigerFan
They told her it would cost $5,000, basically trying to talk her out if it. This is in East Feliciana parish so it's pretty rural. I'm thinking they're just being lazy and don't want to mess with it. I ordered 2 Ubiquiti Nanostations. They get great reviews on Amazon. Thanks for the input guys. W...

Extending WiFi range about 1000 feet? - JonTheTigerFan
My mom just moved onto a piece of property given to her by her sister. Their houses are less than 1000 feet apart. The cable company in the area says they can't run cable that far (bull shite I know but they won't budge). What are her options (if any) for using her sister's wifi?...

[quote]I'm aware of that. There is also a spot on the credit report that shows the highest balance the card or loan has had. re: Purchasing a car out of state: taxes/fees/registration - JonTheTigerFan
I recently bought a car from a private party from Alabama. The bill of sale will need to be signed by both parties and notarized.
