re: Shrimp stock - convertedtiger
I only add it to the stock and even then it's not much. Just enough to know it's there. I make a ton when I make it and freeze what I don't use. It's one of those, "my mom did it this way, so that's the way I do it" kind of things honestly. ...
if you've only ever used old, dried up leaves, you might try a few very fresh ones next time
I've heard that the eucalyptus notes are MUCH more pronounced in the fresh leaves and can really overpower a dish. I've never used fresh so I have no clue if this is correct. I was always...

re: Shrimp stock - convertedtiger
Ok, good deal. Yeah I bring my stock up to almost boiling then turn it down to simmer for about 30-45 minutes. Do add a little garlic and salt to the stock though. To me, it seems to add more depth. Besides, I like the way it smells. I always use the heads too. I was just wondering what others a...

re: Army style creamed beef (using ground beef) - convertedtiger
First, this sounds really good. I think I will be doing this this weekend! Second, horse meat is served in many places around the world and it is actually considered a delicacy or a special treat. In small towns in Germany, if a horse had to be put down, the butcher would come by to get it. Th...

re: Battery Powered Coffee Maker? - convertedtiger
We had this issue as well for camping. I never found a serviceable electric. We bought a nice percolator and use it with a propane burner. Works great. The heating element in a coffee maker draws a ton of power. I'm not sure a battery powered one would have enough juice. ...

Oh it's very much a convenience factor. That being said, the food I eat there is good for our needs. We are a simple folk with simple needs though. The beer is cold. The bartenders are not. The apps I eat are good. The atmosphere is festive. Sounds to me like a recipe for success. ...

We pregame there if we aren't setting up the tailgate. I have absolutely no problem going there to meet up and have a bite and a brew before going to the stadium.
