My $.02 is that each and every person should put a min. of 8% in to not only get your company match (if you have one), but to also get used to not "missing" that money.

My ROR in my 401K this year was part of my long term aggressive growth strategy (I have not changed it much at all over the past 2.5 - 3 yrs). Long time TD reader and Money Board fan....here's mine below for the year:
Personal Rate of Return from 01/01/2012 to 12/31/2012 is 21.1%
All with Fidelity - it was a good year in my 401K (above) and matched that growth in my stock portfolio as well led IBM, Apple, XOM and CVX.

Born and raised in FW and have since lived in Baton Rouge, Dallas (proper and in the burbs), Atlanta, and now DC for 2 yrs. (while spending a significant amount of time in NYC in-between all of these). With that being said, FW is the best city to live in...its the smallest 600K+ city you'll ever be...

Been following them for 3 years now,and they are extremely under the radar (sans for Rolling Stone loving them)...one of the most legit live acts I've ever seen. Just saw their show in DC last week (also seen them in Dallas and Baltimore) - and it did not disappoint....

Albeit a very good point, I think the greater issue is that frankly some specific dog breeds (regardless of age) are better around children then others. There are of course exceptions, but which dog is more often likely to be "pet friendly" around your newborn or young kids - the Pit Bull/Rottweile...
