re: Xbox One vs Xbox 360 - Bmath
I traded in my sons' (11 and 7) Xbox 360 for a PS4. they liked it for about a week and then wanted their 360 back.
The difference is they already had the 360 and likely wanted to go back and play some of their old games. They couldn't do that because you TRADED IT IN. It sound...
We get charged more for debit than we do for credit... ask if you care.
Yet every gas station with a sign saying "$5 minimum for credit" sign will still let you use debit. Perhaps I'll just start writing checks more often. ...

re: Yet another tipping thread - Bmath
Perhaps, but we're becoming a cashless society. At true small businesses, I generally try and use my debit card if I have to make a small purchase without cash. They at least used to not really have fees like a credit card. Honestly, now I no longer live in that area, but I find it more of a ...
I can't imagine not having any cash in my wallet.
I used to carry cash, but then I moved to the north gates of LSU in college. While they had nice new apartments there, they also backed up to the ghetto. After getting hit up for money weekly by various vagrants, I wanted t...
See, this is the problem, you can't say... well based on what others ordered and tipped... it's based on what you ordered and tipped... if you can afford to order the pricier stuff, you should be able to tip for it.
People wanna talk about things on this site that are trashy, nothing trashier than a bad tipper.
Meh, he's 90 years old. He says he has always tipped that way because that's what you are supposed to do. I suspect that in his heyday that was pretty standard. ...

It was just an example. I personally do not tip <15%. However, my grandpa does, and I was using it as an example of where the food/beverage cost drive up the meal and tip costs. If you are ordering more expensive menu items, it then causes that tipping percentage to give the waiter a better cut....
You are a straight jackass who has never worked in the service industry
Dude, have you eaten at Superior Grill? Each double margarita is $10. 5 margaritas is easily $50. The fajitas are ~20 a plate, so multiply that times 2, and my grandpa rarely got food that cost more than $1...
Sonic kids
Many, but not all, Sonic franchises operate with the same tip based pay structure as a sit down restaurant. A lot of the newer ones have a drive through, so I use that as to not feel guilty about not wanting to tip for fast food. There are some interesting threads ...

Pretty much, I was royally confused for the longest time until I figured that out. I knew that he was notoriously bad at tipping to the point where family members were often slipping bills under their plates to help out. He's even been called out about it at various family gatherings. Also, b...
20% for lunch at the diner is going to be a whole lot different than 20% at dinner in an up-scale. Yet almost the same amount of effort goes into serving you at both. re: Yet another tipping thread - Bmath
Perhaps, but why would that matter if you are already basing your tip on a percentage of the cost of the meal? You expect better service at a pricier establishment, and when I tip on that final bill it will be a much higher amount than if I went to Club B's because the food and drinks cost more. ...
I agree and when I worked in the industry I was never upset with 15% it is what some people deem a good tip, and that was fine with me. But like you said for every jerk off that doesnt tip or tips 10% there is someone who tips 30% . It all averages out to around 20% over time.
I ...
