re: Movie you would like brought back into the theater - PattyRay38
Superman The Movie Goonies The Thing
Excluding The Thing, you stole my answer, man! I'll add Raiders and Last Crusade. Maybe Transformers: The Movie for nostalgia's sake!...

re: Liam Neeson was almost cast as Ra's Al Ghul on Arrow - PattyRay38
Nightwing.....please.
Based on the announced characters on both Arrow and Flash, better bet is going to be Firestorm (going to be on Flash) or The Atom (as Brandon Routh is playing Ray Palmer on Arrow). I would be down for a Firestorm show!...

re: What's your favorite Superman theme song? - PattyRay38
For me, as a HUGE fan of the Chris Reeve Superman, the John Williams theme will always be the best. Like Richard Donner says, that theme says the word "Superman" in beginning of the main part of the melody. Though I will say, the Hans Zimmer theme, surprisingly, has become a favorite as well, soundi...

re: Oldest commercial you can remember? - PattyRay38
I imagine for me its a cross between the early 80s "Nair" commercials or "Doublemint Gum" with the twins. ...

re: Anyone shop at Hi Nabor? - PattyRay38
Yeah, it's simply a local grocery chain owned by nice enough people, but yeah, the Drusilla location had gone downhill. I find the Jones Creek location questionable as well, because as a vendor, myself and other who work for other vendor companies have pulled MASSIVE amounts of out of date items fro...

re: Why is E.T. The most inaccessible film of all time? - PattyRay38
This is strange to hear, to be honest, as I had the VHS for E.T. really on (I was born in 82) and can't not remember either having the VHS or seeing the movie on TV. ...

re: Is Sicily Island actually an island? - PattyRay38
No, but is it a shithole speedtrap that, circa 2000, was pretty fricked in that the mayor was the town judge and the head prosecutor. Anyone know if that Officer Punchard dillhole still hides in the bushes waiting to give out tickets? *Before anyone chides me on "follow the law and don't speed,...

re: It's gonna be called Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Yeah.... - PattyRay38
I loved all the pieces of the movie, didn't like the plot and the overwrought action, that's all.
You know I had to bust your chops on this one. I just tend to be a stickler when people make what sound like absolute statements when discussing a subjective thought. Just like people ...
And plenty were genuinely excited about MoS, too bad it couldn't live up to that.
Pal, just remember, for some of us, Man of Steel DID live up to its hype. I know you left the theater with a "meh" reaction, but I saw it twice in the theaters and really dug it both times. ...

re: Dumbest traffic ticket you've ever received? - PattyRay38
I was coming back from working the grocery store in Woodville MS through St. Francisville. There was road contruction going on just past the Myrtles, 35 MPH. A coworker had gotten a ticket that morning, so I was going 30. I saw a cop by an intersection waving his hand up and down as if signaling to ...

re: Goin to see The Amazing Spider Man 2 in a bit - PattyRay38
I'll say again, I have been a mostly regular Spider-Man reader dating back to the early 1990s, and I thought the movie was not only good, but also a faithful amalgamation of various versions if the Spidey mythos. ...
From what I'm hearing, it's not faithful to the comics at all. Was Electro even in the same ballpark on how he was in the comics, and that's just for starters?
Well, Electro from the comics has never been a true A-Lister. He has long been a villain that gets a good deal of mocking,...
Anyone that hasn't seen it should throw all the M/TV "Film Majors" opinions out the window. Don't deprive yourself of an enjoyable movie.
Thank you so much for saying this. I just came back from watching the movie tonight, and I thought it was just a spectacular (pun intended) Spid...
Ric Flair stole his bit from that dude.
Heh! Yeah, wrestling nerd that I am would argue that point, since Flair began wrestling before Superman was released in '78, but I would so much prefer it if he stole from Superman!...

Yeah, I can definitely think of a few. The Dark Knight: [link=(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULGRcb5eagE)]LINK[/link] Gordon's desperate scream of "I have to save Dent!" alone should have garnered this film an Oscar nomination - it's such a powerful moment. The Avengers: [link=(https://ww...

re: Comic book fans.. found some of my old ones, cleaning out some things - PattyRay38
Hmmm. Looking at what you have there, they probably aren't going to be worth more than the few dollars range. Maybe $5-10 at best. The Indiana Jones comics may be worth a bit more, but I don't think very much more, as I have those issues myself and they didnt go for as much as early Star Wars issue...
I mean, when we first saw Blue Beetle, he was a police officer who took supervitamins that made him stronger. When we first saw Iceman, he was chucking snowballs... literally, snowballs... at Magneto on the cover of X-Men #1.
Slightly faulty argument here, as Dan Garret Blue Beetle...

re: The Official Comic Book Hero Tournament Round II (Winners 3rd Post Pg.1) - PattyRay38
Superman works slightly differently. Sunfire seems to take energy in and converts it into something else. Meaning deprived of sun absorption=no powers. With Superman, the sunlight enhances what is already there, especially since certain aspects of Superman's powers are due to Earth's lighter grav...
Iceman taking Thor:
As far as I know, Thor requires air to breathe, so icing out the air would not affect Superman, as only the version existing from 1986-2006 needed a regular supply of oxygen.
Iceman has created constructs of ice so powerful that he was able to easily ...
