I usually don't like when Hollywood softens a movie from the book to give Americans a feel good ending. But, The Natural just worked better with the happy, Rocky-esque ending.
I came here to say the same. I threw the book at the wall when I finished it...

I'll never understand why people don't understand this.
1. Some people prefer diet coke (I am one of them)
2. You are already eating 1500 calories - why I add another 500 of pure sugar?
FWIW - I rarely eat fast food and when I do, it isn't a supersized double cheeseburger with fries....

| O-T Lounge|| re: Probability question, help - lsumatt on 11/13/14 at 12:15 pm|
I have to think about it more, but I think the answer is:
1- (15/16)^7 = 0.3635 or 36.35% for one 10 time flip.
getting it to work once in 10K flips is:
1- (0.6365)^10,000 ~= 100%...
That is a much simpler explanation than any text book or professor. I thank you, good sir.
lol. I am sure it does seem simpler since it is WRONG! By foshizzle's math, if the coin were flipped 30 times, there would be over a 100% chance of it happening.
So let's throw away th...
| O-T Lounge|| re: Petroleum Engineer - lsumatt on 11/2/14 at 11:20 am|
The "big crew change" that they have been talking about for 15 years is supposedly around the corner. All of the baby boomers hired in the late 70s and early 80s are about to turn 65 and need replacements (maybe 2 for every 1), but I am skeptical. I think with the money they are making they won't al...
| O-T Lounge|| re: Petroleum Engineer - lsumatt on 11/2/14 at 11:12 am|
There are definitely big concerns and I am not sure there will be market demand for the number of petroleum engineers the universities will produce in the next 3-4 years - regardless of the price of oil. In the US, the # of PEs has doubled or tripled since 2007. The University of Houston didn't have...
| Tiger Rant|| re: 24-23 But Who Did He Beat? - lsumatt on 10/26/14 at 11:56 pm|
I would be interested to know how many of the 23 losses we were down by more than a TD at the beginning of the 4th (I am guessing 10-15). Not that losing big is a good thing but it would further show that if the game is close, lsu probably wins it....
Their defense is very very good, but makes a living off of turnovers...something LSU does not do.
This is why part of me thinks Miles' usual run, run, safe pass offense might be good this game. Avoid turnovers, keep the game low scoring and close, and let the crowd and our athletes...
Haha some of you really have no clue. Playing at home is not worth a whole touchdown. Jesus.
No, its worth about 3 points. So if Ole Miss were 15 point favorite at home, it would probably be 12 at a neutral site and about 9 on the road. Which is exactly what I said....
| Tiger Rant|| re: LSU +3 vs. Ole Miss - lsumatt on 10/19/14 at 3:47 pm|
This is about what I expected. People on here were saying +8 to 10 which makes no sense. Tenn was +15 at Ole Miss, meaning they would be +8 to 10 at home. Obviously LSU was going to be viewed more favorably than Tenn by Vegas....
