I hate to continue to drag this out but the heat dissipation advantage is probably negligible if it even exist. One piece or 50 pieces..its all 7075 Aluminum. As for assemly your trading screwing in a rail for trying to time a barrel nut with a special wrench and limited range of motion. Also, Aero'...

Based on the OP I assumed you knew nothing about ARs. Since no upper, monolithic or not, has any wiggle I assumed that your comment, "which is why it interests me so much. There will be no wiggle.it's one piece" meant you thought the "wiggle" that was mentioned pertained to the upper. I was simply t...
which is why it interests me so much. There will be no wiggle.it's one piece
The upper and lower will not be one piece. This is where the "wiggle" would be. A little "wiggle" is not necessarily a bad thing on an AR and to an extent is expected. If your rifle/pistol has a little wig...

As far as i know the major difference is Mil-spec requires a smaller buffer tube.

The cracking was on chrome plated BCGs where the coating had built up in the corners. Neither Nitriding QPQ or NiB was around in the gun game during the mid 60s when those trails on the M16 were conducted.
We've seen a lot of improvement in the manufacturing process and machines that create AR15...

| Outdoor Board|| re: How long is a 4473 NICS check good for? - Propagandalf on 11/6/14 at 9:15 pm|
The NICS check is actually good for 30 days. So if you go buy a gun and get delayed or otherwise leave without taking possession of the firearm you have 30 days to go back, recertify the 4473 (sign it again) and take the gun.
But every time you purchase a gun you have to fill out a 4473, and eve...

I'm too lazy to look up the exact numbers, but if memory serves...
In 2012 there were 800,000+ AR type rifles manufactured in the US. This is just complete rifles, so stripped/complete lowers aren't reflected in these numbers. That would add many many many more to the number.
In 2012 there we...

| Outdoor Board|| re: how many of you have been delayed for a background check? - Propagandalf on 10/8/14 at 10:04 pm|
It's up to the FFL really. He is required to 1.) wait until the NICS calls him and says it is OK to transfer the firearm(s) or 2.) wait 3 regular calendar days without hearing back from NICS.
If three days has passed and he has not heard back from the NICS he is clear to transfer the firearm. No...
