Surely most 1911 makers aren't using this quality of metal in their small parts. I realize that a lot of the MIM parts in the guns thes...

The Springfield Armory Custom Shop has never touched any of the production models from the factory. There is an American production factory that handles the mil-spec RO TM and TRPs (all NM frame guns). These are all "production" run guns and are not hand built. The SACS builds each gun from the grou...
H&K uses MIM parts too. Give the fact the USP will live on a diet of +P ammo there is little merit in the arguments that MIM parts are somehow inferior these days. You'll see someone rant about MIM parts in a 1911 and rave about their CPM S90V bladed knife a minute later...
Proba...

Well in that case I also have an American made Springfield. I thought you were saying you have one that is completely American made, which if you include the frame none are. So yes it is relevant and American made, not including the frame forgings....
There was a time every part was produced the the USA, not Brazil.
It is my understanding that all frames come from brazil dating back to the inception of the company in the 70s.
Hmm Spinger better than Kimber? they ALL use MIM parts especially in that price range
Yes and all MIM parts are not created equally. re: school me on 1911's.... thinking of getting a kimber - LouisianaChessie
Meh. In theory maybe but these guns aren't setup the same as a 45. Lighter recoil springs smaller chambers etc. A company like Kimber isn't going to release a gun that doesn't work most of the time. Relative reliability is overplayed especially when talking about a range gun. You can take a bottom o...

As a USC fan posting on an LSU website I can not believe you give a shite what people think. That being said I think its just another gun that is fun to shoot and would be effective if you needed it. I really like the Tactical Pro in 9mm for what its worth but for that kind of money I would look at t...
I prefer Springfield over kimber
So do I but ill say that a Kimber is a nice pistol and you get a lot more bling for your money. OP: buying a Kimber at the 800-1000 dollar price range is not a mistake. The Kimber guns in this price range definitely have more bells and whistles ...
