| New Orleans Saints Talk|| re: Set the record straight on Darren Sproles - Zoltan on 3/9/14 at 8:02 pm|
It was shocking to most fans but I called this weeks ago because he is expendable and it is about time we move on. We won a Super Bowl without him and can do it again.
Well to be fair we did have Reggie, who created just about the same degree of problems regarding mismatches... But...
| New Orleans Saints Talk|| re: New Orleans Saints moving towards more conservative offense? - Zoltan on 3/9/14 at 7:50 pm|
A successful run game is everything for our offense. Just look at 2009 and 2011, our season rushing total as a team was over 2000 yards both times and we were dominate. In fact, in 2011 the ONLY 4 losses we had were the only games we failed to rush for 100 yards. (Atlanta was the one exception that ...
| New Orleans Saints Talk|| re: Can someone explain a few cap related things if Jimmy's tag status changes? - Zoltan on 3/9/14 at 12:27 pm|
If we cut Darren Sproles, the Saints would have 5.2 million in cap space and would just need about 500,000 to free up
This is true, but also assumes we don't sign any FAs which isn't going to happen. I'm sure the restructures would happen, and it would be irresponsible for them not...

| New Orleans Saints Talk|| re: Free Agency Crystal Ball - Zoltan on 3/9/14 at 11:45 am|
I'm curious to see whether or not Devin Hester generates any interest with teams. Haven't watched him enough lately to know if he is still a legit return threat, but if he hasn't lost too much of a step and could be had for cheap I'd love to see him here on like a 2 year deal. ...
| New Orleans Saints Talk|| Can someone explain a few cap related things if Jimmy's tag status changes? - Zoltan on 3/9/14 at 11:36 am|
I'm not here to stir up a debate about whether or not he deserves a WR tag, should we keep him, is he being immature etc. I'm just curious about some of the implications of it.
If he files a grievance and is eventually successful with getting his WR tag, that would alter our cap figure by nearly ...

| New Orleans Saints Talk|| re: Malcolm Jenkins hints that PT gone too. - Zoltan on 3/8/14 at 2:57 pm|
I feel that the FO is hanging onto Pierre as an insurance policy in case we don't land some of the FAs we are looking at. The other ones had to go as we can't negotiate, let alone sign a FA without the bankroll to do it. Not to mention his contract is extremely cap friendly with no dead money and if...
| New Orleans Saints Talk|| re: So Ingram is the #1 back or will the Saints grab a RB in draft/FA - Zoltan on 3/8/14 at 2:41 pm|
If anyone remembers the Eagles playoff game, Collinsworth quoted Payton in reference to Khiry and said,
"The only thing keeping this kid from being a super star in this league is me, I just don't give him enough chances"
Ingram one year left, Robinson running hard. Like others said, imp...
| New Orleans Saints Talk|| re: When is Drew going to step up and help us - Zoltan on 3/7/14 at 4:12 pm|
His cap number this year is a little over $18 million, for 2015 and 2016 it goes up to $26 and $27 million. We mess with his contract now like you are suggesting and that adds more money to the remaining $26, and $27 mill. We wait a year and then ask him to restructure (extend). Convert a large port...

| New Orleans Saints Talk|| re: How would you guys feel about using the non-exclusive tag on Graham? - Zoltan on 2/18/14 at 11:02 am|
The best part about this scenario is the fact that we can hopefully address WR with a draft pick and go after more proven veterans on defense in FA.
I feel like it is more rare to find a first year defensive corner (providing P-Rob or White are not long term solutions) to come in an make an imme...

| Fantasy Sports Board|| re: Roddy, James Jones, Crabtree - Which two would you rather own for the playoffs - Zoltan on 12/2/13 at 10:07 am|
To me it is Roddy or Crabtree. Roddy showed yesterday that he is back to full strength, and that should be a huge boost going forward. Crabtree stands the most to gain. Niners are still surging, hoping for a better seed with some help from the Saints. His first game back yesterday and he saw the fie...

You definitely have to. It's not even a question. Morris way greater than Mathews, and Allen and Jeffery are pretty similar, with Allen getting way more involved on a very consistent basis. Factor in that Allen was barely involved at all the first 3 weeks or so and they get even closer....

This is an entirely different situation. Brady had both Gronk and Hernandez as well as Welker, and a running game that was very effective when Lloyd was there. He doesn't have the luxury of Hernandez and the running game has been crap since Vereen's departure. Definitely still worth owning to see wh...

He isn't listed as out yet, so no news is good news so far I would think. And yes I know that with Jenkins, so I'm sure Hicks will have to rotate at NT some. Which is why I'm assuming we will have to have Junior, Tez, and/or Richardson with their hand in the dirt tomorrow....
| New Orleans Saints Talk|| re: Foster out for Sunday. - Zoltan on 9/14/13 at 2:47 pm|
We have 7 d-linemen on the 53 man roster. 3 are inactive tomorrow. The only one of the PS who could play with his hand in the dirt is Rufus... We may see Junior and Richardson with their hand in the dirt a good bit tomorrow if our D is on the field a lot....
