I think we are in if we go to 2-1 over the next three, with one of the 2 being a win over Tennessee. We can't afford another bad loss. Of course, a win or two in the SEC tourney wouldn't hurt either, but I'd feel better about it. This Ole Miss game is huge, because beating Arky on the road is goi...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Saturday vs Ole Miss just got THAT much bigger - Tigerpaul1969 on 2/26/15 at 10:26 am|
I just want to keep winning and not have to worry about being at the mercy of the freaking tournament committee. The problem with being a 10 or 11 is that if you are a Big 5 conference team being considered at the 10 or 11 it means you are a bubble team who could be a 10, an 11 or in a play-in game...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Lack of depth at DE - Tigerpaul1969 on 2/25/15 at 12:46 pm|
Well, that's why I said he has the opportunity to do so. With Coach O and Tommy on him during the summer, maybe he can beef up a little bit before the season starts. If we have any injuries, we'll NEED him to play....
| Tiger Rant|| re: Lack of depth at DE - Tigerpaul1969 on 2/25/15 at 11:56 am|
Funny how last year DT was such a concern, now it's flipped to DE. I'm really focusing more on available experienced players. We have three DTs with significant starting experience. We have zero DEs with the same. Bower, Clark and Teuhema have some PT, but they haven't been in this position befor...
| Tiger Rant|| Lack of depth at DE - Tigerpaul1969 on 2/25/15 at 9:51 am|
Is it possible that Herron moves back to DE given our now great depth at DT and lack of depth at DE? Is there anyone else who could change positions and provide more depth there?
I've said this before and I'll say it again...Thank goodness we flipped Sione (and his brother) right before NSD last...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Rashard Robinson - Tigerpaul1969 on 2/25/15 at 9:44 am|
He is uber-talented. He was a lock-down corner by the end of his true freshman season. He got off-track during his sophomore season which led to his ineligibility.
The smartest thing for him to do would be to take this year off to get his mind right, work on his game at a JUCO, then come back fo...

Saivion Smith - CB
Shavar Manuel (teammate of Saivion Smith) - DE
Keion Joyner (currently 80% CB'd to us) - LB
Ed Alexander (currently 100%) - DT
Ed Oliver (currently 57%) - DT
Eric Monroe (currently 55%) - S
Willie Allen (currently 60%) - OT
This list does not include other 5-stars Brandon...
| LSU Recruiting Board|| re: Any new info out there on Brandon Martin and Chidi Valentine-Okeke? - Tigerpaul1969 on 2/19/15 at 11:32 am|
Since we don't need immediate help at either position, these guys can sit a year either way. I like the upside on both of them a lot, but I don't think we were expecting much from them in 2015 anyway....
| LSU Recruiting Board|| re: Does franks want to play lsu baseball? - Tigerpaul1969 on 2/17/15 at 10:07 am|
How about some love for the recruiting staff on this matter? All people know how to do is bash.
So, the staff sucks because they locked up (as much as they can before signing day) the top-rated dual threat QB in the NATION two years before NSD? What I've gathered is that people on this board wo...
| LSU Recruiting Board|| re: How good of a baseball player is Felipe Franks? - Tigerpaul1969 on 2/7/15 at 11:07 am|
Look at A&M right now. They have a very real possibility of having only one scholly QB on the roster in the fall if Murray signs a BB deal. He is apparently projected as a 1st rounder....
| LSU Recruiting Board|| re: Lack of flipping OUT of this class - Tigerpaul1969 on 2/6/15 at 10:10 am|
I guess I should have said lack of flipping OUT of this class. The staff also did a great job of getting kids to flip in. Really, Teuhema was a flip. Dillon, Martin, Key (sort of), George Brown. All flips. We got two flips out of Florida alone.
Man, that Teuhema flip day last NSD was so awes...

The big names that come in late get all the hype and get the recruiters the accolades, but I'd like to give props to the staff for retaining some big names for an eternity in the recruiting cycle, especially people like Brossette, Teuhema and Toliver, but also guys like Magee, Washington, Ducre and ...

| Tiger Rant|| Chavis v. Steele/O - Tigerpaul1969 on 1/29/15 at 11:26 am|
The cost to LSU is just 150,000 more per year for BOTH Kevin Steele and Coach O than it was for just Chavis. A&M is paying Chavis alone 250,000 more per year than we are paying both of those guys.
I just have the feeling that A&M fans are going to be bitching about his salary by the end of next ...

Can we toss out the Crystal Ball nonsense? 24/7 had 60+% to Auburn, then Alabama and Georgia at just under 20% each, then LSU at 4%.
