| Political Talk|| re: What is the place of social conservatism today, and should we stop progressing? - BigJim on 10/30/14 at 9:00 am|
[quote]I'm proud of the progress the US has made in race relations and for gay and transgendered Americans. I'm proud of the abolition of slavery and of granting women the vote. I'm proud of our denunciation of our Japanese internment camps. I think more progress can be made on most of these fronts,...

Just skimmed the report. A lot of good stuff in there.
And a lot of stuff that sounds silly out of context-
"A study that paid people to watch grass grow!" well really a study to see how a certain type of marsh grass grows as part of a wetlands restoration demonstration project in Florida....

There is a lot to be said for what you signed up for even if you had other more expensive options (unless you know you have high cost health needs).

So I have played it for about 6ish hours over the last two nights.
I am a huge fan of civ 4 and 5 for context.
So far, I am really liking it. It's close enough to civ that I don't feel overwhelmed, but different enough that I feel a little lost (in a good way).
It's like driving in a part of...
