re: OT World Travelers...3 days in Florence.. - mchias1
Best thing we did on our trip was rent a car and drive to Forte Dei Marmi, it was by far the best beach I have ever been to. Also I would suggest doing the Tuscany Vespa tour, you ride around the country side drinking at different vineyards
the SO and I are going on our honeymoon t...

re: What are those little buildings along Causeway bridge southbound? - mchias1
I'm an engineer at a Baton Rouge firm that works with the causeway. A few months ago, I did work on the fiber communication network that monitors the power at each building and the relays states. My coworker is an ex-power company guy and he maintains the relay system, I was helping him troublesho...

re: What are those little buildings along Causeway bridge southbound? - mchias1
They are for power switching. The causeway is powered by CLECO and Entergy, one from each shore. The building house relays that open or close should power go out for one company so the other company can supply power to the rest of the bridge....

re: looking for custom home builder - mchias1
Thanks for the helpful suggestions. Going to start looking at them. Does Townsend allow for structural changes to their designs? One thing we like about cretin is we could add rooms or change walls if we want. We are ok with a "spec" house if that's what it is called. We just don't want a neig...

re: Sprint service in BR - mchias1
I have sprint here. It is definitely frustrating sometimes. It's spotty where you get decent data. Mall of louisiana data is pretty crappy. At town center it flies. I'd suggest weigh the price and how much you want to deal with data issues. For me, I don't use my data that often so it's not th...

re: Official WiFi Thermostat thread - mchias1
I installed this same thermostat in my apartment about 2 months ago. It seems to be pretty accurate. I keep mine at 70-75 when I'm home and awake, 65-70 at night, and 62-80 when I'm at work. My system never runs during the day. It seems to run the unit about 30 minutes before the temp switch if it...
