Thanks for the helpful suggestions. Going to start looking at them.
Does Townsend allow for structural changes to their designs? One thing we like about cretin is we could add rooms or change walls if we want. We are ok with a "spec" house if that's what it is called. We just don't want a neig...

| O-T Lounge|| looking for custom home builder - mchias1 on 1/11/15 at 8:44 am|
The fiance and I went looking at houses and we found Cretin builders. We really like one of their options based on price and ability to customize to our liking.
Does anyone have experience with them?
Do you have any builders that you would recommend?...

My setup: (all free software)
I run universal media server on my PC. I had to set up a DNS site to tie my IP router address to. Its simple with freedns. Follow their instructions and it should only take 30 mins or so. You would need to open ports on your router to allow outside access.

what are you looking to stream?
local or over the internet?

i think i might try creating my own z-wave mesh network in my house. was debating on getting a Wink but damn sounds like they are making it too difficult. at least with a usb z-wave thumb stick i can program everything on my PC. Thinking on going with openHAB for my backend.
CAD have you loo...

| Tech Board|| re: Sprint service in BR - mchias1 on 12/3/14 at 8:03 am|
I have sprint here. It is definitely frustrating sometimes. It's spotty where you get decent data. Mall of louisiana data is pretty crappy. At town center it flies. I'd suggest weigh the price and how much you want to deal with data issues. For me, I don't use my data that often so it's not th...

| Tech Board|| re: Official WiFi Thermostat thread - mchias1 on 11/26/14 at 8:56 am|
I installed this same thermostat in my apartment about 2 months ago. It seems to be pretty accurate. I keep mine at 70-75 when I'm home and awake, 65-70 at night, and 62-80 when I'm at work. My system never runs during the day. It seems to run the unit about 30 minutes before the temp switch if it...

| Tech Board|| re: Sprint Family Share Pack - mchias1 on 10/22/14 at 7:43 am|
the discount is only applied to the data part of the price, which is the $70.
also, like all the other carriers, that price of $170 does not include the price of the phones like you get on contract. so you should compare costs of phone + $170 to your $250 / month (assuming that is on contract ...

i have a Contour Roam2. I like it. Its super easy to use, just make sure you get a class 10 SD card. I have a class 4 and it's not fast enough to press record with out turning the camera on first, which you are supposed to be able to do.
i went with the Contour over the GoPro because of the bu...

don't remember seeing anyone on their own. most, if not all, on the river are guided. it is a pretty dangerous river. we were there at end of May a couple years back so may not have started high travel season.
fair warning, the water is cold as hell and a huge shock when it hits you....

i have w/ my dad and brothers. it was a good time. we went with Canyoneers. We did the 5 day trip. I would highly recommend it. Only thing is you don't paddle. You just ride in their powered raft. They cook all your meals. Only thing you have to do is set up your tent every night.

I would go with the new moto x. My dad was on an iphone until he just switched to the old moto x. he loves it now because he has more control of it. he's also in love with the full voice control moto has preinstalled. he was beaming this past weekend when he learned how to receive/send texts and...
