| Tiger Rant|| re: Auburn in NC game? Thoughts? - TigerCard on 12/8/13 at 1:30 pm|
Auburn deserves to be there. They earned it on the field. Yes, they got some breaks along the way, but that's always part of the equation.
I've always rooted for the SEC team in the championship (yes, even Bama), simply because I wanted to keep the championship "in the family." If FSU won th...

Here's what the folks at collegefootballnews.com predicted for our season. They saw us losing to Ole Miss but predicted we would beat UGA.

| Tiger Rant|| re: Hindsight: why did LSU change the offense last week and this week? - TigerCard on 10/20/13 at 4:51 pm|
Good analysis!! I agree with your thoughts on why a run-first philosophy can be problematic, especially with an iffy defense such as ours this year. As I noted in an earlier post, what troubles me most about that philosophy as it was implemented last night is that we could...
Yes, the offense was different. No doubt about it. Miles already said last week anyway that they wanted to pound Fla for whatever reason. And it was pretty much the same yesterday when people expected them to go back to passing first to set up the run. Sure they passed on first down some seri...
quote:So Mett was responsible for LSU losing the game.
I detect some sarcasm here. So are you saying those 3 ints didn't stop us from scoring? Are you saying no one else besides Beckham was open on those plays?
Miles seemed to imply the same thing when he said that all Mett ...

In his weekly "Final Thoughts" before the weekend's game, Pete Fiutak (one of the best college football writers in the business) had this to say about this year's offense AND how close we've been over the past two years.
"I’m not going to argue if you want to make a case that LSU is the best team...

Thanks for the kind words. Next week should be a good test for both teams. Maybe sometime in the future we can get a home/home series so y'all can experience Tiger Stadium. There is nothing like it, especially for a night game. TCU has traveled a long road to get to where there are now. It's al...
| Tiger Rant|| Gausman ranked 19th best MLB prospect by ESPN - TigerCard on 7/19/13 at 11:59 am|
This was on a list of the fifty best MLB prospects. He is ranked 19th now, and was ranked 26th at the beginning of the season, so his stock has gone up some, at least in the writer's opinion. Here's the comment on Gausman:
"In hindsight, Gausman came to the majors too soon, but it doesn't tell ...

I haven't read every comment, so apologies if I'm just repeating what someone else has said. While offense overall is down and the number of home runs has decreased, it doesn't really seem to be that big of a problem with games played in campus stadiums.
To me, the larger problem is with TD Am...

Before going to ESPN, he was a lead columnist for the Louisville Courier-Journal. Whatever you think of him, the point is that there seems to be growing national momentum in favor of a nine-game schedule. His arguments about the need for quality programming for the new SEC network are valid (I ima...
There is no longer a viable excuse for the rich not to play a nine-game conference schedule. The SEC mansion needs quality competitive furnishings, not knock-offs from the FCS thrift store.
The Pac-12 is doing it now. So is the 10-team Big 12, which doesn't have a title game and doesn't need...

Oops....ESPN goofed, and I didn't catch it. In print they list FSU, but they show the LSU icon, and that's what I was looking for when compiling the list. For what it's worth, he's a 4-star OG from Burlington, NC. I'll rev...

The point is NOT to rehash the past and kick ourselves over how it played out. That's over and done with. But I think some people on the board (e.g. those who are constantly questioning whether we are an "elite" program or not) need to be reminded how narrrow the gap ...
