Best way is through summer associate programs. Most mid-law firms take clerks during the summer after their 2L year. I don't know how that works with being in the military, however....

I don't know if you could jump into a T1 school if you didn't crack the top10.
And FWIW, even if you could, I'd stick with that free ride, unless you're at a really bad school where you have no chance to secure a mid-law / big-law etc. corporate job (assuming that is even what you want to do).

Buying a house, and need to meet with a lender regarding the mortgage.
What would be your first step? Just go to a lender you know and trust, go with a bank that already holds some of your funds to make things easier, shop online??
