re: Rummel basketball, any good? - GhostofJackson
Rummel lost to a 2A school who is 3-5. They only have one win against a 5A school with a winning record and that was SPS. Verdict is still out on them....

The westbank also has Pat Taylor with a new 36 million dollar facility that is going to gobble up a lot of kids who would have gone to private school in addition to TJ. Also, Kenner is about to open up a Charter school that will accept high school students so a small portion of the Rummel/Curtis bl...

re: New LHSAA Enrollment numbers - GhostofJackson
I don't think the multiplier thing is going to happen anyway, because I think the voting will either be for a 6a or to recombine 4a and 5a and keep the small private schools separate in a select bracket. Of course there is now no way for the small privates to avoid Curtis, Evangel, Calvary, ND and ...
Unfortunately that isn't going to change until people start sticking up for their school, and pointing out all of the positives.
Pointing out positives of a school isn't going to stop the Charter schools from snatching up all these kids. Tuition prices are rising but the job marke...
Something doesn't add up. I do like how the new admin has put together the pre- engr and pre-biomed curriculum.
Sorry, but if parents are buying into this hype they have no clue. What classes are in these "programs" that aren't just electives or AP courses?...

Shaw dropping down is more than just conjecture, it is the plan if nothing changes. Tradition goes by the way side when you have a high school enrollment of 395....

A guy on sportsline showed what the multiplier would look like with a 6A division: [link=(http://www.louisianafootballtalk.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=read_count&om=887885884896907&forum=DCForumID1&viewmode=threaded)]LINK[/link]...

Remember St. Aug is 4A now as well, and I don't see anything that leads me to believe they would go 5A again. They are dropping numbers, plus with a new football coach 4A is their best placement. ...

I think they also mean the student body isn't as polished, and you can see it with Shaw and St. Aug too. Just making up numbers here, but let's say 10 years ago 300 kids applied each year, you could take the best 250 knowing about 25 of them were let in on a provisional basis. Now, the application...
The Jesuit reject and bm reject list is significantly smaller than it was years ago.
Yeah, my point earlier was that their rank on the totem pole allowed them to lose far less in enrollment numbers than other schools. The hierarchy of the Catholic League for students is: 1) Jes...
Oh nothing. Just noticed that they moved up to 3a last year and suddenly want to run back down to the less populated schools after not winning a state title, much like how they ran back down to 2a after Salmen punched them in the mouth in the 90s.
Oh, I got you now. Tuition is only around 7-9k depending on what school, so really not that much, with Jesuit being the cheapest of the Catholics. The issue is more options now than ever before for good free education. The middle class folks in Jefferson and Orleans are turning to free education from the public fund...
