re: Why don't Auburn fans act like Bama fans - Govt Tide
This is BS and kinda like saying the NY Mets have just as many fans nationally as the NY Yankees. Alabama has fan groups from different parts of the country that have absolutely no connection to the school like the Bridgeport, PA fans who are basically a group of Italian Americans who load up as...

It probably is generational to a degree because you never heard of these incidents until about the last 15 years or when the internet and cell phone technology exploded onto the scene. You just never heard about the incidents 20, 30, and 40 years agof and when Alabama fans aren't seeing fans any dif...

I know a few friends with experience as state employees in Alabama who have become incredibly frustrated with the system. The legislature basically uses state employees as political pawns in their budget battles and the majority could care less about the working conditions of teachers and other stat...

"Alabama is a huge wasteland" And Louisiana is a disgustingly ugly and dirty state environmentally. Outside of a few interesting swamp and tidal basins like the Achafalaya (sp?) Swamp and a few areas of South Louisiana like New Orleans and Lafayette, it is an incredible ugly state nature wise. Al...

re: Seriously, if not Bham -- where should the SEC - Govt Tide
I agree that Bham isn't as much of a melting pot as Nashville although I'd add MSU to the list of UA, AU, and UT grads and to a lesser extent LSU and Ole Miss grads that dominate the area. Nashville feels more equally dominated by UT, UA/UK, and AU fans in that order with plenty of other SEC fanbase...

LOL at people calling Bham a decaying sh##hole. The downtown area has been making a steady and obvious comeback in recent years and the metro area other than a few of the northern and western burbs is actually quite nice. The league has a very long and prosperous 65 year history in Bham. Having s...

The whining by other conferences and their fans over the SEC is becoming just as annoying as those who promote the SEC. That seems like a pretty reasonable comment unless unless the argument some people are making is that a head coach can't fundamentally change the culture of a program and set it up for long term success with the right successor. Well said. My only question is did GM really say that Les was still winning with Saban's players? If so, then yes he deserves criticism for a ridiculous statement. No, about GM on ESPN in general. There was a thread on the TR calling GM a douche homer and I couldn't figure out where that sentiment was coming from the little I've heard of his show. He's been the farthest thing from a Bama homer. I do think he's going out on a limb on quite a few of his picks. H...

Aspen is incredibly nice but real estate is insanely expensive. Just a cursory look at real estate prices show you get a lot more house in the Vail area as opposed to a much smaller home for the same price in Aspen. That takes away a little bit of Aspen's appeal. ...
