Would definitely consider inshore. The others may even prefer it. I usually stay inshore here in La so I'm being selfish and wanting to go out. Thanks for the info....

Charter req out of Orange Beach area - rustyjohnson
Any recommendation on a charter out of the Orange Beach area for a May trip? 5-6 of us and would prefer to go offshore. I've googled but trust the strangers on the OB more than the rest of the internet....

re: Any electricians can lend a hand? - rustyjohnson
When it happens again check the voltage in the panel to see if the service is dropping or if the problem is downstream. I'd bet it's downstream. Only do this if you're comfortable. Although it's only 120V, you're staring at the secondary of a transformer, which is high fault current....

re: washing machine help - rustyjohnson
Had the same issue on my grandma's GE. Jumped out the switch, megged the motor, went through the entire circuit to no avail. There's a combo of plugging/unplugging & opening/closing the lid that resets the electronic controls on the motor. Solved it. Google it for the model....

re: Advice for getting a degree in electrical engineering - rustyjohnson
You're exactly right. I'll never need to design a motor or worry about rotor flux, just keep the plant running. I wish they had taught more practical relaying/substation maintenance but I guess that's what a good first job is for. Something they never told us in school was that Ugly's Electrical Re...

I'd be hesistant to trust an old generator if its been sitting up. The engine is probably fine (unless wet stacked) but the actual generator is probably a victim of hysteresis....

re: My F-150 Ecoboost mileage. - rustyjohnson
I get 17mpg max in town with my 5.0. I took one trip and got 22mpg cruising at 60-65mph but once I got on the interstate and set it on 75, my mpg went down to around 19.5. I was definitely leaning towards the ecoboost but the dealer was more willing to deal on the 5.0 and it had everything I wan...

Unfortunately I had to have the bridge replaced on the Gibson. It was the old adjustable type and the glue was gone and just the 2 screws were holding it down. It was also cracked. Needless to say it didn't hold a tune. Stan Hebert in Hammond put the closest to the original he could but it's still ...

I can't give you a number off the top of my head but I'll give you a recommendation: Do your homework before running a gas line.
