re: Is this boat worth the money? - Grassy1
I agree with Pogey. I wouldn't buy that PF unless it was a steal... and it's not. That front deck is far less than ideal. Based your "around home" comment, the 20' might be better. On the coast, you will wish you had the bigger boat... but if you don't go down there much... :dunno: The rela...

re: Find Your Own fish!!!!!............... (Rant) - Grassy1
I've been on both ends of this frustration. Being relatively new to salt fishing and maneuvering a bay boat in wind and currents, I've let my boat get too close to other fishermen. As time has passed, I've gotten better. I've also had folks pull up on me, seemingly out in the middle of nowher...

re: 24 Volt 70lb Thrust vs. 36 Volt 112lb Thrust Trolling Motor - Grassy1
I have a 24v 80# on my 22' bayboat and it does fine. I agree with Downshift. For your boat, I wouldn't add another battery to maintain. Look around your boat and consider where you're going to put 3 trolling motor batteries....

re: Need identification please! weed? - Grassy1
Tater, hope its not Torpedo Grass. Grows faster than Cent, kind of a blue-green color, seeds out fast, and has a harder texture than Cent so it's uncomfortable to walk on. Did you have river silt brought in before you sodded? Torpedo seeds are often in it. Very unfortunate. OP, looks like...

I didn't realize pigs had fingers, but I bet theyre darn good. Grilling something IS an option, but buying something is an option that I like better if the food is good. I'm listening......

re: IFA Redfish Open - Houma, LA - Grassy1
Thanks for the info. I'd think keeping a fish that large alive would be some type of challenge, especially in summer heat... I had no idea of the bait regulations....

Dare I ask? Where to get catered BarB-Que in Baton Rouge area? - Grassy1
Got about 20 folks coming over for the fourth day of July. Most are from north LA, and the tradition is barbeeque. They usually cook have a hog. Well, I don't have the facilities to cook half a hog... as I live in a "normal" subdivision and have never built one of the nifty brick grill/oven thi...

re: IFA Redfish Open - Houma, LA - Grassy1
Interesting. I've never tried to keep a redfish alive. I assume you use one of your baitwells as a livewell? Is keeping them alive a challenge? Anyone ever use live or dead bait? or just plastic/metals?...

Best of luck 20 yrs ago she convinced my wife that she was alergic to damn near everything. She lost about 20 pounds that she didnt need to on Caves "diet". After a couple years of that bs, she finally went to a real dr who told her that she might want to get back to living... I hope ...

Suggestions on a Florida Keys charter trip? - Grassy1
Going to spend 5+ days in the Keys in July, staying in Islamorada. Probably will just be my 14 yo daughter and me. I may do 2 trips. Any charter experiences out of there that you might share? Anything really fun, or really boring? I found info on specific charters, just not sure what I ev...

re: You've been given 100k to spend on a boat. - Grassy1
I'd lean hard to the Ranger 2510 bay boat. With tax, not sure you could out at less than 100k, but it'd be real close. But I'd like another month or 3 to think about it......

re: Opinions on Skeeter bay boats - Grassy1
Interesting comments about the Champion. I've heard that the Bay Champ ride is second to none, and that Ranger owns old Champion molds and the 2310 is basically a Champion hull. (as best I recall the Ranger factory rep explaining to me at the NOLA boat show a few months ago.) Personally, I wa...
