re: Would you want AD to play PG if he could? - corndeaux
Giannis played PG a good bit in summer league and, to put it simply, he was elite.
Um, no. 2 APG v 4.5 TOPG. If anything, summer league was a bit of a disaster for him as a pg. It's intriguing but he's got a long way to go. Bledsoe on the Bucks would be awesome. To answer the ...

re: Don't start sleeping on AR25 - corndeaux
Rivers looked at his best playing with Morrow, so he and Jimmer might be a good match too, but it seems unlikely both would be in the game at the same time much.
I'm looking to see if they will still try to use Rivers as a pg. That experiment needs to go away. Outside of injury or ...

re: What Monty Learned at Summer Camp - corndeaux
“I’ve got this reputation now
 Oh Monty, it's like you don't even realize what you tell the press. That said, this is promising. If he can loosen up and if he will take on Thibs defense, that's a summer well spent...

re: Is there a game tonight?? - corndeaux
Davis has been relatively disappointing, IMO
I dunno. It's tough for any big to get stats on Team USA because they run no offense and it's all about the guards. Davis did a lot of little things that just don't get noticed. He was the anchor of the best defensive team in the tou...

re: Basketball Insiders Season Preview - corndeaux
he's way more athletic than Aldridge
It's more about shot selection and how he is deployed. Athletic ability doesn't matter if Davis is taking jumpers on over half of his shots. I don't think what Duncan fears will happen; Davis is expanding his post and dribble game while getti...
They want to believe but don't
They just believe more in other teams in the West- which isn't an insult. i think the Worst Case is worth the read too.
Worst Case 39-43 Anderson is not ready to play big minutes, and really struggles on defense. The injury bug als...

re: Lowe on Team USA/Davis - corndeaux
I would think that Team USA is a good learning experience for all involved. No matter the criticism he's received, Monty is a sharp guy.
No doubt. Same time, what Thibs does is no secret. Many teams use some variation of his defense. Monty really hasn't and it hasn't worked unle...

From Lowe on FIBA WC. [link=(http://grantland.com/the-triangle/team-usa-fiba-world-cup-spain/)]LINK[/link]
7. Davis looks great in Thibodeau’s scheme, which is more conservative than the system Monty Williams has run during Davis’s two seasons in New Orleans. Depending on the circumst...

re: Another article on AD: "Then & Now & Later: Anthony Davis" - corndeaux
Spectacular link. He is spot on for me. Nice to see someone knock his ball handling and defense. He's right about both. Defense will get there though. He's been fantastic in FIBA with a team that isn't loaded with defensive talent. Not coincidentally, he's been playing ICE and not ha...
tanking
What Hinkie is doing is not tanking. He's playing within the rules to win 5 years from now. People may not like it or agree with it, but he is playing to win. They are completely flipping that organization. It's not a pretty process. He thinks collecting assets in the hope...
this is nothing similar to that
These women were wronged. You can justify the degree of harm however you want to yourself. It's irrelevant. You are blaming them for someone stealing from them. You say they "bred the monster" that led to this. How is that not a variation of what...

re: A Davis unsung leader of Team USA - corndeaux
No it's because they didn't know how to attack the zone in the first half
Because they have a ton of ball stoppers and they don't run plays. They really miss that anchor guy in LeBron/Durant. The guards are all good to legit great (Harden/ Curry are great). But in this settin...

re: Monty's Postcard to Pelican Fans - corndeaux
Unfortunately, the roster construction for Team USA is quite a bit different than ours.
Are we sure the perimeter defense is that much better than what the Pelicans rolled out last season? The big difference is Davis at C full time is not a problem at all. FIBA teams just aren't...

re: USA vs Slovenia - corndeaux
Flawed stats, but he's probably looking at the NBA.com stats. Davis had a 107 DRating (though 104 on BR). Also the defense rated the same whether he was on or off according to NBA.com. His RPM on ESPN only ranked 22nd among PF. Lot of that is on the scrubs he had to play with. But he still made mist...
Aminu's never been good defensively.
Not quite true. He's not a stopper by any stretch like some believe, but he is credible. It's just tough to gauge because all of them were lost on defense. Maybe they're all dumb or lazy or just bad at defense. Be mildly surprised if Evans o...
