Low carbs, cut out sugar (Atkins type).
I went from 225 to 180 in 5 months.
walking/ running/ a few free weights
just completed Savage Race - a 6 mile mud run w/ 25 obstacles
traning for Tough Mudder in Nov - 12 mile mud run w/ obstacles
not for everyone, but it worked for me....

45 and in pretty good shape.
Felt a twinge in my lower back just walking through my house. Next day, could barely walk.
3 weeks Aleve and muscle relaxers later, starting to feel normal again.
X-rays showed 2 compressed vertebrae in my lower back.

I have family around the country (and some overseas), plus 2 kids in college.
FB is great for everyone to stay in touch, watch each other's kids grow, etc.
Much better than only seeing far-flung family once or twice a year. ...

My buddy claims that he drove from Anchorage, Alaska to Houston only stopping for gas.
He processed out of the Air Force, then drove across town and signed final divorce papers and left Anchorage immediately. He said he was too pissed off at life to be tired.

Houston, Tx to Kissimmee, Fl in my early 20's. Felt tired, but good to go.
Now I'm 40+, and this summer I did Myrtle Beach, SC to New Orleans, La.
Wiped me out. It's hell getting old.
A couple years ago, I drove from Los Angeles to Houston non-stop, but took turns with Mrs T-Bro.

I have both viewpoints. My wife and I each had a child when we got married.
I raised a stepson who I consider to be mine (his real dad is a POS).
My daughters stepdad is a real good guy and they have done a great job raising her.
The only issue she has is trying too hard to please everyon...

First met my wife in March, went on our first date in May, proposed in October, got married in March (1 year from the day we met).
Been 16 happy years.
I was 27, she was 22.
I think being past the party age helps. Had we met a few years earlier, no way either of us would have been ready. ...
