Nothing like the West Wing. I can deal with political bias, but you'd swear the reporters are saving the world in every episode....

[quote]Well it's not like some aren't making an effort to gradually displace fossil fuels in their life in whatever way they can.
Yeah, I'm not really understanding the point of this thread. I believe that fossil fuels are a necessary evil that has done more good than harm, but lots of...

I'm sorry the one Facebook obsessed millenial you hired didn't work out, but secretary jobs don't exactly attract the cream of the crop. That's why the others didn't work out either. You're hiring shitty people.
I'm just not sure what your point is. The educated millenial population is working mo...

If you want to drive a Suburban, keep it for a bit longer. Cost of ownership + depreciation is still less than a newer one at this point.
Your best bet is actually to dump it and buy a reasonably sized vehicle that save that $1500 in a year by not gulping down gas. Unless you have 10 kids or som...

[quote]Since the end of the Cold War, it has been unthinkable to call for any alternative to capitalism, or even to imagine that such an alternative might exist. But shouldn’t we at least retain the prerogative to choose the sort of capitalism we want? Or to demand that our capitalism produce things...

It's crazy to watch certain areas change. I lived near Freret a few years ago and rent is now at least 50% more than back then. OC Haley is starting to show the same changes, but with larger buildings requiring heavier investment. Jack and Jake's is going to be a big draw....

Theoretically, a higher minimum wage can create jobs by shifting profits from savers/owners to spenders/employees. In the short term, higher-earning minimum wage workers will spend more and increase aggregate demand, which will expand the economy and create jobs. Of course, several other things will...
