The rye is solid. It's extremely sweet so I can't drink too many but definitely a good pour. A bit pricey compared to the regular AE. I'd try it at a bar before buying just to see if it's your thing. New Orleans and Baton Rouge should start seeing it soon if not already...

That's the one I was leaning towards. They have a private room as well. We typically go to Mortons. Is the pricing comparable? I looked at the menu and the regular items aren't too bad but the steaks seem a bit high. Hopefully that's due to quality though....

Chef's Tables in New Orleans - rlore2
Need some assistance form the FDB please. Looking for a chef's table in New Orleans but can't seem to find many reviews. I was considering Commander's or Revolution but wasn't sure which ones had the better experience (interactions with the chef and view of the kitchen). Thanks for any help. :cheers...

re: Disney Vacation Club? - rlore2
I bought in about two years ago after mulling it over for a while. There were a bunch of factors but mainly it made since financially. I bring my family every year and we typically stay at a Deluxe resort for 5-6 nights each time we go. That can range from $2500 to $3000 so it'll pay for itself in ...

re: Whiskey/Bourbon/Scotch appreciation thread - rlore2
My usual place called and said they could get some Black Maple Hill Rye. Not really sure what the age statement is but from what I've found the ryes are better than the NAS bourbon which can be pretty inconsistent from what I've read. Has anyone tried any of the ryes? If so are they worth it?...

Noticed a good bit of you guys (& gals as to not discriminate) are from the Lafayette/Broussard area. I'm heading that way tomorrow for work and was wondering if there were any places you wouldn't mind pointing me toward that I should check out on the way from New Orleans? Not expecting any unicorns...
