re: Post Tension Slab - Rev1897
Any idea what the price difference would be between post-tension and conventional? I've also heard that if you ever have to make repairs to the slab, PT is impossible to repair because if you cut into the slab you risk cutting one of the cables....

re: Post Tension Slab - Rev1897
So we are driving piles and our contractor has given us the option of PT or Conventional. What's the difference in price vs. quality? Is it overkill to have it with piles?...

re: Spray Foam vs. Fiberglass - Rev1897
As far as using it vs fiberglass, you are looking at paying more at upfront but you will save money on the back end. My builder puts it in every house he does and I would do it if you can afford it. Also make sure the A/C installer is aware you are using it because you won't need as much tonn...

Spray Foam vs. Fiberglass - Rev1897
Looking at insulation on my new construction, it's 3700 living sq. ft. Seems like fiberglass is cheaper, but Foam makes your energy bill less. Heard foam can have problems with moisture, etc. Any recommendations in the NOLA area? Thanks in advance....

re: Which credit card to get: Platinum Amex or Visa Black Card? - Rev1897
You really should look at the Chase Sapphire Preferred and the Amex Blue Cash Preferred. I have both and maximize points (CSP which transfer to United and SW) and Cash (AMBCP which gives you 3% on gas and 6% on groceries)...

re: Engineered Wood floors - Rev1897
Engineered Wood is not wood. Bamboo is not wood, it is a grass, and it makes a good floor. If you want cheap the go with oak
So your opinion is that Bamboo is better than Engineered wood, but that you do not believe it's better than cheap hardwood? Because I've heard different,...

re: Engineered Wood floors - Rev1897
Thanks for all the feedback. I am definitely leaning toward the Engineered wood just because it's cheaper (which is nice) and seems like its' better on a slab foundation (which we are doing). I have read a lot online, and with Engineered Wood it seems like it really depends on what quality brand ...

re: Tax Title Sales? - Rev1897
Basically, the only way any title insurance company will insure the sale is if there was actual notice to the record title owner. As for the absolute nullity question, if there is any doubt as to whether the record title owner received notice, he can nullify the sale as a due process violation un...

re: Tax Title Sales? - Rev1897
I actually do a fair amount of this work. Chances are you will be underbid if it's in a good area. Is it listed on Civicsource? My advice in cases like this is to track down the owner and make him an offer he can't refused. If you buy the tax title he can redeem it for three years and if he wasn...

re: Switching to Tmobile Today - Rev1897
Well, I've had Tmobile for a week now, and here are my thoughts: - It's way cheaper (as in I'm saving about $100 a month due to the family plan my dad and I got). - The service isn't as good as AT&T in downtown NOLA - The service isn't as good as AT&T at my home in JP. But, between BR and NOLA...
