I see no reason to "own" cats other than the occasional expense of food, vet bills, fumigation expense, etc....

I've had my Chevy Silverado since I purchased it new in 2001. No major repairs needed. Still runs great and is very dependable. I cannot complain about my service at all.
I would love to buy a new truck but this one just keeps on running. It's about time for a tune-up and I will have them put...

Cast Iron is better, IMHO. Maintenance? Only if you don't use them.
Rub some oil on them once. Cook chicken or pork on them occasionaly and they are good to go.
Loved my Webber Cast Iron grates....
