re: The main reason LSU lost the game - lsuexpert57
Unless big Ben can develop a mid range jump shot, we are going to see teams just sagging on him more and more. Hard to drive when the guy guarding you is standing 5 feet from the basket. ...

re: Do we\should we finally offer Scott now? - lsuexpert57
The most important takeaway from Scott's recruitment is that it is not just LSU that isn't interested in him....its EVERY SEC school who arent interested! As far as I know no one in the SEC has offered him...maybe Vandy or Kentucky...but I don't think even they have. Not saying he won't turn...

re: Saturdays o line troubles - lsuexpert57
Pocic was arguably the guy that got beat the worst....and he is a junior not a frosh. Robinson and the rest of bamas line were just too good....

Jim McElwain is my new favorite SEC coach! - lsuexpert57
Besides Les Miles of course. The guy is all class, and seems to be a genuinely good guy besides being a great football coach. To get Florida this good this fast doesn't bode well for us. I expect that Florida football will be back to national championship level within the next season or two. Cong...

re: If you are still a Les Miles critic, here is a stat for you.... - lsuexpert57
The "point" being made here, is that CBS has only two masters, those being "money" and "ratings". CBS is the flagship station for the SEC, they have 14 teams to choose from when making plans for their "showcase" game of the year. The fact is, that CBS, with 13 other possible options, has chosen ...

If you are still a Les Miles critic, here is a stat for you.... - lsuexpert57
If LSU remains undefeated until the Bama game, CBS will likely use its "one time a year option" for a prime time game on us. This will mean that since the 2007 season, LSU has been chosen for the prime time CBS game 8 out of 9 years. A stat that cannot be matched by ANY SEC school!...

re: Fournette or the Honey Badger? Who will generate most publicity for LSU? - lsuexpert57
I didn't say it in my OP but I was thinking more along the lines of publicity that will result in a recruiting bump. HB's extraordinarily high profile as a db definitely helped bring in some national guys we may not have gotten otherwise. If you catch recruits when they are most impressionable, say ...

Fournette or the Honey Badger? Who will generate most publicity for LSU? - lsuexpert57
Not that it matters really, which one generates more positive pub for us. I do think the publicity that LF7 is already generating will be at least at the level that Mathieu generated. We are still getting high level recruits, years later, whose fandom of LSU was initially begun because of the legend...
And the eyeball test on the field in the first half of both games says that LSU will be able to do this to anybody they play this season. The media is not giving credit to this fact and are going with the idea that Auburn and Moo State are bad teams and LSU took advantage
I agree ...
quick, ask- maybe some formatting might help? bolding the players/giving each player his breakdown might help us get through the big blocks of text. thanks so much again.
Thanks Karma, that is a good suggestion and I will try to put it to use. re: How much MORE will opponents load the box? - lsuexpert57
If we assume we are in I formation with two wideouts, and those wideouts are covered by CB's, this leaves the defense with only 9 other possible players to put in "the box". Normally against a run heavy team, a defense will "load the box" by dropping the strong safety down low to the tight end side....
2003 was pretty sick.
Whitworth is probably a small step above any of this years 5, but I would take Pocic, Clapp, Alexander, and Teheuma over, Wilkerson, Peterson, Niswanger and Reed. I will say though, Wilkerson was the best LSU center I ever saw before he got hurt, but Pocic lo...
only thing that boggles my mind is Ed Paris. No where to be seen. Without Mills, I actually don't like our depth at corner. We will be screwed on the outside if either of white or tolliver go down. Jackson will be abused by big receivers. Williams had zero catches until Jackson was getting sn...
