re: Shaya - Big Ol' Price Jumps Already - BrockLanders
I'm glad we got to eat there last October. Some fellow FB posters, one of whom lives across the street from Shaya, recommended it. We just walked in and got a table.
Since it just opened in February 2015, how did you manage to do that? ...

re: Shaya - Big Ol' Price Jumps Already - BrockLanders
Its probably increases in labor costs and pricing in the free pita, if anything. Get press, get busy, suddenly you need 4 am prep cooks instead of 2, etc...
Can you put a word in to the star of the show and get him to make the yemenite bread gratis instead?...

re: Shaya - Big Ol' Price Jumps Already - BrockLanders
Similar price hike happened at Domenica. First time I had the Cauliflower it was a "hey try this" free offering. Eventually it went to $18. Taste the hummus at Shaya and then compare it to whatever Sabra is. The taste and texture and pita bread (which is free) is worth it. I swear half the ...

Shaya - Big Ol' Price Jumps Already - BrockLanders
Morning Everyone, Since I'm going back to Shaya this weekend, I took a look at the menu yesterday, just to get reacquainted with all of the different stuff. I was there in May, and thought I noticed a couple of price differences, but then I looked closer: [link=(https://s3.amazonaws.com/s3....

re: A Chef's Perspective - BrockLanders
Jared, I certainly would not want to own/run a restaurant, as I know it is tremendously stressful on a very consistent basis. With that being said, why do you think so many of the well-known chefs (not just New Orleans) end up putting their hands in so many different pies when a bit of popularity...

re: Time to unleash Joe Morgan - BrockLanders
Perhaps on the little coaches show on WWL next week, we'll see if one of the well-spoken radio personalities can ask the big cheese about why he pulled Mr. Morgan after the first quarter? Does anyone at said station have the nerve to ask him this question? I really don't know....

re: What's the most underwhelming concert you have been to? - BrockLanders
Maybe Cat Power at the Howlin' Wolf, sometime in 2003 or thereabouts. Granted, I didn't know her music, but I've been to plenty of shows where I wasn't familiar with a group, but still enjoyed something about their performance. A few years back at Jazz Fest, The Decemberists were quite underwhel...
