re: Lake Travis, Austin tx. - lsufishnhunt
I don't have any experience on lake travis.... But I just got back from a weekend in new braunfels. I loved it over there. Greune, TX is right next door with a nice "downtown" area with tons of shops and some good food. In new braunfels is schlitterbahn if you want to do that. You can also float the...

New Braunfels tubing - lsufishnhunt
Headed to new braunfels for a bachelor party and planned on tubing the guadalupe river.... As luck would have it, the river is closed. Would we have a good time on the Comal? Can we drink? Other college age kids or mostly families with children? Any advice?...

Dinner and drinks tonight in BR - lsufishnhunt
My friends and I need help with deciding where to eat/drink tonight. Want somewhere with good food, good drinks and lively atmosphere. The problem is that we've grown tired of the typical lacaretta, superior, rum house, etc. Any suggestions that are a little off the normal rotation? We're about ...

[link=(http://www.westsystem.com/ss/building-an-efficient-icebox-2/)]West System ice chest[/link] I'm planning to do one soon. Found these "plans" the other day. I'm not planning to do plywood on the inside, just outside for some rigidity. Fully expect this to cost way too much and be way too he...

re: First boat purchase questions... - lsufishnhunt
I would try to figure out what caused the cracked "support member". If it is from rot, this is an absolute no-go. I 100% recommend getting the boat inspected by a Marine surveyor. He will check all electrical, mechanical and structural components of the boat and advise you on the boat's true val...

re: Louisiana's Specks Five Years Later--a fishing guides take on impact of BP spill - lsufishnhunt
True... but that same 5+ year old fish has already spawned up to a dozen times from age 2-5. Its genes have been passed on through the 30,000,000 eggs it has released in its lifespan. This is all ignoring the fact that this "bounty" is only accounting for about 20 fish per year, statewide. ...
I'm blaming CCA for putting a bounty on our breeder size trout as a way to generate revenue
LOL... you seriously think this is the issue (there isn't an issue at all) with the trout population? A few dozen "breeder" trout that get weighed for the STAR tournament? Trout reach se...

re: Louisiana's Specks Five Years Later--a fishing guides take on impact of BP spill - lsufishnhunt
I am all for conservation and I understand what you're saying, the limit is set so that the trout population that we are fortunate to have isn't abused. As long as you follow the limits that are set, you aren't "abusing" them. The limits are set based on averages: average number of fishing trips...
