re: Louisiana's Specks Five Years Later--a fishing guides take on impact of BP spill - lsufishnhunt
True... but that same 5+ year old fish has already spawned up to a dozen times from age 2-5. Its genes have been passed on through the 30,000,000 eggs it has released in its lifespan. This is all ignoring the fact that this "bounty" is only accounting for about 20 fish per year, statewide. ...
I'm blaming CCA for putting a bounty on our breeder size trout as a way to generate revenue
LOL... you seriously think this is the issue (there isn't an issue at all) with the trout population? A few dozen "breeder" trout that get weighed for the STAR tournament? Trout reach se...

I am all for conservation and I understand what you're saying, the limit is set so that the trout population that we are fortunate to have isn't abused. As long as you follow the limits that are set, you aren't "abusing" them. The limits are set based on averages: average number of fishing trips...
How about some new data from the LaWLF that isn't based on research from 2 years ago
From the NOLA Article: Although most of the information Blanchet presented did not include 2014, one slide did. It showed gill-net harvest by the state's biologists for April through September e...

re: Recommend a deck board for me to use - lsufishnhunt
Think I'm going to go with 2x6, knowing that I'm going to have to refinish them every year or 2. Not too big of a deck and not sure how long i'll be in this house. It'll likely become someone else's problem in 5 years or so. Are the 5/4 sufficient compared to 2"?...

Recommend a deck board for me to use - lsufishnhunt
I'm framing up a wooden deck in the backyard and I'm ready to pick out my deck boards. I've been planning to use treated 2x6 and stain/protect them, but I'm definitely open to other ideas. The deck is about 220 sq. ft. and want to keep it somewhat economical. Any suggestions? ...
ut that would mean you would have to go do business with superior bait and tackle.
Sorry for the hijack, but what's wrong with Superior? I realize that their prices on tackle are pretty expensive, but they are literally the only game in town for offshore gear. I try to order most...

re: Toledo Bend trip. - lsufishnhunt
Fished up there this weekend. Two boats and we had 11 keepers. Very slow for us, but it was our first time there, so there was a lot of learning. Water was 49 when we started Friday mid-morning and warmed up to about 55 by saturday afternoon. All fish caught in 4-6 ft of water in the grass with wo...

Looking ahead, there is the very real (but not likely) possibility that LSU can the the #2 seed, but a series of events need to fall out the right way. Most importantly being that LSU wins out (vs. Ut and @Ark) and Arky loses out (@USC and vs. LSU) I just posted this on the SEC Rant. [b]2 See...
