re: Deer processing in the Covington/Folsom area? - Da Hammer
I do mine myself. Before I did this I used Service meats pretty much for all my deer. Then my whole family got sick from some of the sausage. I now do all my game myself, not worth having kids and wife sick. Things may be different, and I could be just the odd guy that got sick but I won't cha...

re: Anybody else duck hunt with an old shotgun? - Da Hammer
Hunting saltwater marshes I try not to shoot the antiques in the blind it's just too hard on them. However I have taken my model 21 and an older browning sxs to Venice before just have to be very careful with them. If hunting saltwater I would suggest a gun you can beat the hell out of and not...

re: Outdoor related gift for under $500 - Da Hammer
If he is a duck hunter for far less than $500 you could get him a very nice leather duck strap with his name on it and perhaps an important date to him on it. I have carried the same one for the last 20 years I can tell you it has a lot of memories in it! A good knife is another idea. Anot...
I flew to BA in jan and can tell you this is inaccurate.
Interesting that you didn't have any wingshooters (dove and or duck hunters) Being the season is CLOSED in January, and the peak hunting season in Argentina is May-August. Thanks for playing come again sometime....

re: Start of Duck Season - Da Hammer
I like it just the way it is, plenty of birds here for opening weekend, then when tides get low in the second split and you struggle for water you can go hunt east zone or AR or MS. I like the current set up a LOT. Of course where I hunt almost always has birds by opening weekend....

re: Argentina Dove Hunting - Da Hammer
I have been fortunate to go a few times. As others have said shells will be by far your biggest cost. Food will be out of this world and you will be treated like a king. 90% of your flight into Buenos Aries will be americans going wingshooting. My suggestions are to work now at finding either...

re: Sell the boat? Dilemma - Da Hammer
Not knowing what they sell for new, do you feel you can get 50 for it now? I ask as I don't know what a new pathfinder sells for, I think I might try and ride it out knowing that you may have trouble getting that money back. You won't get to use the boat like you would like but you will still ...

re: Sell the boat? Dilemma - Da Hammer
First question will be to determine if you are upside down on the boat as far as what you can sell it for and what you owe. While it may make the most sense to sell it if you take a loss may not be in the end. On the flip side with a 4 yo and 2 yo at the house I have gone from hunting ducks 45...

re: Fishing from the bridge in Grand Isle advice - Da Hammer
I haven't fished the bridge in years however when we did as others have said we used small white and chartreuse jigs. The other tip when we fished it we used a white perch pole or even a cane pole so that when the fish hit you just flung them on the bridge rather than reeling them up and having t...

re: Boat Purchase thread (Bay Boat edition) - Da Hammer
Another nice boat is the new 26' Pathfinder if looking new and not on a budget... IMO I would NOT buy new, find a 2-3 year old boat with warranties and buy it. Identify what you want, and ride some, talk to boat owners. Maybe sit at a launch at a marina and talk to people as the pick up their b...

@ Gauxtiga... Not trying to argue with you but have been growing it for hay for 20 years. I have found no way to get rid of it permanently unless every neighbor within a mile radius kills it. Otherwise it will come back. If you can prove me wrong more power to you. If you can't kill it best...
