re: Long range shooting school? - Da Hammer
I can't think of the name of it, but there is a nice place in Florida that teaches classes. I have it at home if someone doesn't beat me to it I will update later tonight. I find the best way to learn is to practice, no better teacher than experience and trigger time. Not saying courses won'...

re: Ballistic heads and long range guys, caliber recommendation - Da Hammer
I went through this process about four years ago. My goal for long range was for the most part 1,000 yards and in to start with. I wanted a gun that didn't help create a flinch due to recoil. For me the 6.5 creedmoor was what I decided on I am VERY happy with it. I bought the parts and put s...

re: Fishing Charters - New Orleans - Da Hammer
How close do you want to be to the city? Assuming a day trip from there the two that come to mind are Theophile Bourgeois in Lafitte and Capt. Charlie Thomasson in Delacroix/Hopedale area. If you want to go a bit further Venice and area is nice but about 1.5 hours from new orleans....

re: Utility Tractor recs??... - Da Hammer
I have two Kubotas a 70 HP and a 35 HP. One is 20 years old the other 10 both (nock on wood) are going strong with no major repairs, just maintenance. I have been happy enough with them that I just bought a Kubota ZTR mower. That being said all three of the brands you listed I think it would ...
Maybe I need to make another trip last trip
While I won't say it's a slam dunk for the last three years I have been listening to people complain about the fish not being in the area and we have been catching them regularly. Even with a high river there is normally clean water to ...

re: East Pointe a la Hache fishing - Da Hammer
ntgreek while I agree with the river pouring in, I disagree with your trout assesment. We are doing very well on trout when the wind lets us get out even with the river high. You just have to know where the river water will be and won't be....

re: East Pointe a la Hache fishing - Da Hammer
Changed very much indeed. There was a time that every fall we'd fish Taylor's Pass, Bird, Deepwater, Fort, and California Points with shrimp tipped shad rigs slowly along the bottom
I still love to fish this area in the fall, it can be so good at times, also fishing Stone Island. ...

re: Boat for both inshore and light offshore? - Da Hammer
If the majority of your fishing is inshore and you want to do some inshore why not just get a 24' bay boat? That's what I have used for years in Venice, and it has landed tuna, snapper, AJ, and lots of other stuff along with tons of inshore. My view is if it's too rough for my bay boat I likel...
