The primarily reason has nothing to do with us. Unfortunately, the premier program in the nation is our own division. No one has beaten Bama more than we have since their current coach arrived in T-Town, but it is simply a very difficult thing to do.
Secondary reasons: OL's that have been a bi...
| Political Talk|| re: Fox News - Pope Francis is the Catholic Church’s Obama – LOL - N.O. via West-Cal on 12/12/13 at 2:37 pm|
What I think is often missed in the "liberal vs. conservative" debate over the pope is that Francis is primarily focusing on spiritual matters. He is not a theologian; thus, it should surprise no one that he does not focus on doctrine as much as his predecessors. ...

It's hard to argue with what various of "inside-out" basketball can do in terms of breaking down a defense. You see it with teams that can pass well and decisively from the post, but that only works well if you have a post player who draws double teams. Not as many in today's game. Same thing appl...

"Either it's a good idea to cut military spending or it isn't. The outcome shouldn't be contingent on an extraneous event."
I agree with this premise, but as a practical matter, there will always be some horse-trading involved in the legislative process, and I am OK with that to a degree.

"That's Hall of Fame stupid."
As one could tell from my posts, I essentially agree, but the posted query could also be interpreted as showing more a lack of judgment or perspective than stupidity. Indeed, it requires some brainpower to make the argument likening income taxes to slavery and a num...

"What percentage of the fruits of your labor has to be stolen to be qualified as slavery?"
The percentage is irrelevant. It can never be slavery if the labor is compulsory. A slave does not have the choice not to work or to work elsewhere.

A little TLDR for the morning:
Simon is a sharp guy and I don't begrudge him and might even agree with him in terms of diagnosing some of our societal ills. Unfortunately, Simon does what I believe a lot of folks on the left do in that he ASSUMES that higher taxes and "big government" solutions ...

"Its not uncommon for Iowa to line up with 3 tight ends."

As usual, an insightful piece from a thoughtful writer, and I am largely in agreement. As Will ends the piece, the burden is on those favoring war (or acts of war, at least) to persuade the rest of us.
