Most political operatives, left or right, know exactly what you're saying, but that is not useful to them. It is USEFUL for those on the left to characterize religious people as "wackos," aiding them in persuading non or less religious voters that the conservative candidates can't...

The discussion in the post reinforces my skepticism with respect to hate crimes legislation, generally. From what I have read, there really does appear to be a big question as to whether anti-gay animus motivated the beating and murder. Regardless, Shepard was the victim or a heinous crime that ha...

True, but we also need the courts - specifically the Supreme Court - to say when a branch of government acts outside of its authority granted by the Constitution. Civil forfeiture laws make sense in that cri...

Funny thing is I kind of agree with Lee is saying here. I am against all such checkpoints because I believe you should not be stopped by an office who does not have at least some reasonable suspicion that you have committed a crime. Enforce DUI laws with patrols and traditional police work that is less intrusive....

I'm with Jimbeaux. At least from what I've read, the result in the DOJ matter sounds sensible while the NY matter, which I am only learning of now, sounds absurb.
