UA uses synthetics and not much more. You can buy off brand stuff that rivals or beats UA for 1/4 of the price. Go merino wool for true warmth, breath-ability and no-odor. ETA: Didn't realize someone asked the question about merino wool brands. I've bought smart wool, minus 33, patagonia, ...
