re: Chelsea 2014/15 Season Long Thread - lynxcat
I've seen both Reus and Khedira linked to us. Reus in a possible Schürrle + cash deal.
It is so odd that Schurrle has fallen out of favor so quickly. He was scoring goals and very active to start the year. However, if we can get Reus for Schurrle, then it is a no brainer (assu...

re: so several million people can now be free to legally seek employment - lynxcat
It is not like the millions were not previously working....the quantity supplied increased on paper but not in reality. For those who paid under minimum wage to undocumented workers, they now have to pay the minimum wage which should see a small cut back on available jobs....

re: No wonder medical cost or so high... - lynxcat
It is the only service or product I know of where you do not know the actual cost until after the service is performed. It is a total cluster. With that said, because of that model, payment appears as optional/negotiable to some people. You can literally haggle on medical bills because payment ra...

1.5% seems like a pretty good deal even if you make some solid bank in your career. 3.0% starts getting pretty expensive if you actually do well financially....

I made a very small model to look at the numbers. Assumptions: 1) Salary increases at 5% per year (flat, no account for promotions or change of jobs) 2) Discount rate of 2.5% for inflation Deleted details due to formatting issue, see summary below...

re: "Uber's plot to spy on reporter is latest controversy"- USA Today - lynxcat
Surge pricing is awesome. It is supple and demand at its finest. If you don't want to pay it, then you do not have to. Uber is an on-demand, premium service. If you want to wait for a taxi and deal with swiping credit card information when you are done with it, then that is your prerogative...you ma...
If you don't split it, you need to hedge your bet and put $100 or $200 on Jacksonville on the money line to win $600-$1200.
Brilliant. But take the $1000, guarantee you are up $900 and then you still have $2700 up for grabs. This is easy....

re: What goes through a QB's mind pre-snap: Aaron Rodgers - lynxcat
This is not surprising at all. Everything he mentioned is a logical thing to consider pre-snap. It does not mean that it is easy to do, but the average fan just has no clue the number of reads a good QB should be making at the line. The only thing that caught me by surprise was the style of dropb...

Why is voting not all done electronically? - lynxcat
The fact that it takes time to 'tally' the votes is ludicrous in today's age. There should be real-time feeds available as votes are cast. This is a relatively simple thing for an IT provider to execute and is so much more efficient. Why is the process so archaic?...

re: Family budget question re: groceries/food/consumables - lynxcat
Food is biggest 'random' in my monthly personal budget. I honestly do not have any idea what I spend on it but I budget $900 ($600 eating out, $300 groceries) for just me and the girlfriend. I don't bring my lunch and we eat out a lot. I cover her bill 75% of the time so I am paying for two a goo...
