I'd rather get De'Anthony Thomas in the draft instead of using a pick to get James. Thomas is similar in skill and size, cheaper to sign, and can be locked up on a longer rookie contract. ...
| LSU Recruiting Board|| re: Who has been your favorite recruit that LSU didn't get? - coldhotwings on 4/6/14 at 11:55 pm|
We finished a close second for Lorenzo Carter and he will terrorize from the edge when he puts on more weight. We could really use another outside receiver like D'haquille this season. He would most likely provide instant impact.
Over the entire Miles tenure, I would have to go with Deandre Brow...
If McCarron, Murray, Carr, Garoppolo or Mettenberger are there in the 3rd, does Payton go after them?
I'd be OK with it. That's a very good group of QB's for the mid rounds and if they develop into good NFL QB's, they can be traded for a better pick or other players in the future....
He could be entering the NFL Draft this year and if he had a good career at LSU and if he was going in the 1st Round could be getting $15 million plus for Signing Bonus. He took Chump Change to play MLB!
This is a huge what-if. If I was in his shoes, I'd probably done the same. He ...

| New Orleans Saints Talk|| re: Boards thoughts on Robert Meachem - coldhotwings on 3/23/14 at 10:07 pm|
I like Meachem a lot especially if he gets re-signed on a cheap contract. He was in on a lot of game-changing plays(the one vs WASH will forever be in my mind), one of the last remaining members of our superbowl roster, and can still pose as a deep threat along with Stills. ...
| New Orleans Saints Talk|| re: So, What Do We Do About WR? - coldhotwings on 3/16/14 at 12:38 am|
I'd be stoked with Cooks or a couple other choices at #27. If a BPA CB is there, I can understand that since this is a deep WR class and grab one in the 2nd. But imo, the Saints have to grab a WR within the first 2 rounds.
If the Saints could somehow land Landry in the third round,...
I know, I saw that comment and that was a stretch. We knew Vilma/Smith had almost nothing left in the tank. PT can still produce, I just think we were doing well without him that we could've saved the extra few millions and got a quality flyer player, rollover cap, or used that to sign graham...

Moreno is a very good pass catcher....

Peyton Manning happened for him. If Moreno goes, they should go after Pierre Thomas....

I think Tate will get paid more than PT did. He had an impressive season and has very low mileage. ...
| New Orleans Saints Talk|| re: The Market for RBs--in case we're looking to address the position - coldhotwings on 3/9/14 at 9:01 am|
Donald Brown, DMac, Moreno, and MJD fit our system the best. Gerhart can potentially play FB for us. If we wanna go cheap and save cap room for other positions, it's probably better just to draft one in the middle rounds....

What's even more impressive to me is that no one looks fat. There is usually a few guys who come in really out of shape. Herron may be the only one who looks a bit too heavy but there has been talks that he's moving to DT anyw...
| New Orleans Saints Talk|| re: So are we counting on a Gump Cheerleader to lead our running attack?? - coldhotwings on 3/8/14 at 4:04 am|
Ingram got his 4.9 ypc on fresh legs with only 78 carries for 368 yards. He was so effective that he got way less touches than either Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles. He didn't get much more carries than Khiry Robinson. Ingram did have his moments but his overall body of work isn't very impressive....
| New Orleans Saints Talk|| re: So are we counting on a Gump Cheerleader to lead our running attack?? - coldhotwings on 3/8/14 at 12:25 am|
I know some on here tend to exaggerate about how bad Ingram plays but to say he has been effective is laughable. I would trade Ingram long before I would trade Pierre but the motivating factors are that Ingram does not hold much trade value and trading Ingram would create dead money which isn't the ...

I wouldn't gamble on any of these QB's in the top 5 except for Bridgewater. Unless Bridgewater lights up his pro day(he didn't perform at the combine), I think the Texans should stick with Schaub than risk getting another David Carr. I just don't see more than 2 QB's drafted in the top 5. This QB cl...
