I think it does more to reinforce officers rights to conduct probable cause searches and Hot Pursuit searches. Than to create a "warrant-less" search loop-hole. Not saying that it won't be abused by shitty cops, more than likely it will. I'm also not a criminal, so I don't have much to worry about...
