re: Success on field compared to recruiting - TDTGodfather
Exactly lol. I posed this question on the SEC Rant earlier this year. These guys are ridiculously loaded every single year, yet still seems to lose or struggle with some teams. LSU's best class ever pulled in 4 5 stars last year, Bama still figured out a way to pull in 6. LSU's pretty youthfu...
While I understand your thinking, you sort of solidified my argument....success equals being an NFL player, period, not being an NFL star (which is mega success). Mo,Flynn,Woods, Wright etc. may not be stars, but they're in the NFL collecting pay checks. (In Flynn's case huge paychecks lol[/q...
Well, Bama's secret is how they keep those top recruits from leaving early. Bama's starting lineup is almost all juniors and seniors. They rarely ever have to plug in a freshman and their QB position has been stable.
i don't have it in front of me, but i think a couple of yrs ago ...
I wish we could add an additional two metrics from 05 to date: 1)success rate of LSU players getting drafted/picked up in NFL (as compared to other schools; and 2) success of players who have played and are currently playing in the NFL (although I realize the second is somewhat problematic......
It really is pitiful. But the sec sure got their asses kicked a few weeks ago in match ups with acc
that they did. s carolina was a major disappointment this season. UK is still UK though give stoops some time. GT's win was impressive in athens. their spot on the chart shocked me...

also probably lost in all this is the service academies. i don't necessarily think their coaches are wizards but it shows the type of young man you recruit does matter. i would think on average their players have a higher character/discipline level/work ethic. and that translates into some ...
Correct me if I'm wrong.. But Bama having #1 recruiting classes like the last 7 years and only having 3 championships is actually underachieving.. AMIRITE?!
a reasonable person would say no. but the premise isn't flawed. however if we were in their place: 7 top classes and ...
This makes me actually at the Miles detractors.
that said I'd obviously rather be in the blue than the red at any given point. It's pretty telling that Oregon and Stanford are so far into the blue, and both coaches who coached them to that point are in the NFL now....
good point. though when taking into account the two conference ...
I wonder how it hurts/helps that LSU has had the most underclassman go pro than other universities in skewing these results?
i would think when taking into consideration, it helps as there arent many teams ahead of LSU on the graph and the graph basically shows that they are recruiti...

dunno if Germans, i would think it's gotta be but nevertheless i think it speaks for itself. one of the arguments against Miles is his disparity btwn recruiting and success. this doesn't seem to be the case....
