Heading to Cocodrie this weekend any of you Mofo's going to be out there on the water? Gonna try and find some bull reds in the passes and maybe a few trout if any are still by the island. ...

re: Generator Question - bayoudude
Like others have said you can throw your main breaker and back feed through an electrical outlet but this IS NOT CODE but can be done. TO do it right you need a disconnect to isolate the main feed coming into your home. I have a manual double throw disconnect. Probably cost you about $1k installed. ...

re: 29' Cat versus 29' Regulator......3200 Century - bayoudude
The 33 freeman is a bad arse rig but unless you have a lift i can't see trailering that beast every weekend. There are two in Cocodrie and I must have seen four or five down in venice along with the monster 40 foot with quad outboards. If i ever hit the powerball i am ordering a freeman and having a ...

re: 29' Cat versus 29' Regulator......3200 Century - bayoudude
I will also add that other than the Freeman most cats will be about 10 mph slower on top end than the contender and maybe the reg. My world cat with twin 175 suzuki tops out in the low 40's where a 25 contender with twin 200-250 will be 50's maybe even upper with the 250's. I weighed the options and...

re: 29' Cat versus 29' Regulator......3200 Century - bayoudude
I would put the regulator up there with the yellow fin in terms of build quality. Can't comment on ride. Out of the boats the OP mentioned i would rank em Regulator Contender . . . .Century the reg and contender will vastly outperform the century in the rough stuff and hold its value bet...

re: 29' Cat versus 29' Regulator......3200 Century - bayoudude
I see no mention of World Cat in this thread. I just picked up this 266SF over the labor day weekend. Bay chop is a non event and the ride in a 2-3' gulf sea is extremely comfortable. The cat has a ton of room and with the beam carrying all the way to the bow it feels like a much bigger boat. Hell t...

re: Offshore Grand Isle fishing this weekend - bayoudude
Honestly I would just start rig hopping within the 10 mile limit and see what is there if you are after mangrove/red snapper. Further east you head the deeper the water will get just don't get too close to Loop. ...

Power trim works but hit the key and nothing ...

re: Catching redfish on spoons - bayoudude
Use the black spoon in clear water and the gold if it is a bit murky. Also use the weedless type I used to fish the Johnson 1/2 & 1/4 ounce spoons. Another good bait is the large spinner with rubber cockahoe. ...

re: Would a 3 in lift kit add that much wear and tear on a truck over time? - bayoudude
Depends if full blown lift with new control arms assuming independent front suspension of just a spacer lift. If just a spacer it will put more stress on the ball joints. You will probably get a few years before things start to wear out....

re: Patio table umbrellas on boats - disturbing new trend? - bayoudude
This is funny i was thinking one would be perfect in my front rod holders to shade the bow vs installing a forward bimini. I see no problem with it and is a cheap alternative for shade on the boat....
