re: Life Insurance: Where to start? - bayoudude
I purchased a 30 yr term policy through MetLife. It will expire when i am in my early 60's and by that time my financial burden to anyone left behind should be very little to none. At least that is my thinking. I ended up with a $750k policy fwiw....

re: Very cool pictures - bayoudude
I saw that carved mammoth tusk in vegas this summer. It was in a glass case just to the left as you enter Treasure Island Casino. I took a few pics of it with my phone. It is really amazing the detail that was carved into it. If I am not mistaken it was more like generations than years carving it as...

re: Does everyone carry insurance on their boats...? - bayoudude
I carry liability only on mine. If you finance a boat they will more than likely make you carry comprehensive coverage. I bought used and paid cash but i did inquire about comp coverage and the thought of paying $1700/yr on a 16 year old hull was not appealing. Liability only is just $130/yr. ...

re: Boat hours - bayoudude
If the boat has digital gauges then it should show on there. If it has analog then you would need a separate hour meter. On an 07 engine a mechanic should be able to pull them off of the engine computer. ...

re: First time making deer sausage - bayoudude
Glad it came out well for you. I know we haven't had any complaints with that recipe. I have also added minced garlic and used their cajun seasoning for something different. Hard to beat the green onion though. ETA: and that was a shite ton of work with a hand grinder  ...

re: have any of you ever sunk a boat? if so, how? - bayoudude
Never sank but came damn close. I used to have a 99 model 20' sea hunt center console. While fishing the bait well overboard drain line came loose filling the double bottom with water. By the time i noticed the water was coming out of the floor hatch for the battery. By some miracle the boat started...
