I was in mid to late 20's. When I was younger I laughed at golfers, hitting a little ball that sat there. I used to tell them to step in the box and see if they could hit the balls I would throw. Once I tried it I was hooked....

Between the tiny greens(you cannot go over them), ob, and no grass on fairways it's real easy to run up a high score....

#3= 510 yard par 5 water fronting the green
#4 210 yeard par 3 pond about 20 yards short of green, ditch and pasture if you just went over the green.
#5 was a good dog leg right par 5 but when the old oak tree fell after a storm it made it easy, just fly over the dog leg and ob to the fairway...

Old Plantation on the westbank was even worse but at least it's shut down. About 20 years ago the guy who ran Fashion actually had the greens in perfect shape and was starting to do something with the fairways. He ended up selling the business and moving when he retired from his plant job....

Yep, it's less than 1/2 mile from my house but I haven't played there in over a year. The only good thing about learning there was I had to learn to hit my scoring irons straight at small targets. :lol:...

Those greens sound just like the little postage stamps at the goat ranch in Hahnville. They're all about 20 feet wide and 30 feet deep at most and on 45* angle slopes. :yack:...

That's kind of what I thought, I'm a short hitter but usually keep it around 82 by relying on short game and putting. Of course I'm 52 and out of shape. Played ball in college at 205 now up to 265 but never was a long hitter....

A better question for many of these "long" hitters is what's your average score. Long and wrong doesn't usually lend itself to scoring. ...

An engineer I work with bought a Callaway Razr Fix Xtreme and tells me he's hitting it over 300 consistently. The time I had played with him he was about 265 avg with his old driver....seems like way too much gain to be true.
