Make the run down the Barataria waterway and fish Queen Bess Island and around Grand Terre Island for specks. On the way back stop and work the rock piles and points around Bay L'Ours for reds and flounder. ...

Who were the idiots that turned the boat brigade back at LaPlace? I met up with the group in Baton Rouge only to be stopped at LaPlace and turned around. We were armed and equiped to conduct water evacs on volunteer basis. This was an overwhelming response to the LDWF plea for boat owners to come...

I use 3 inch unless I am targeting only bigger trout. If I am looking for hawgs I fish the 4 inch and If I am fishing for Reds I will use either. If you can get out to the shallow rigs and chum up some mangroves they will knock the shite out of the 4 inch baits....

Fished friday night around east timbalier and smoked the trout. Had my 25 by 10:00 pm with about half being in the 16-18 inch range. The rest were 13-14 inches, then started messing around with some bull reds. Anyway, the main problem I had was there was very little tidal movement Friday Night o...

re: wear your kill switch...update in OP - LSU2001
I have an 18.5 ft bay boat and was running about half throttle and quartering the chop in Timbalier bay. I was running along all nice and calm and all of a sudden I hit a very large wave (3-4 feet) that must have been a crew boat wake. The way it hit caused my boat to jerk to one side and threw me...

I run raccourcci all the time with no issues but there are sandbars and flats. Just have to pay attention and if you start kicking up mud stop and ease into deeper water. If you head down toward cass tete and calumet islands you need to watch for sandbars in that area as well. You sure don't wan...
